Not sure I want this promotion

I'm sure you'll get a quick handle on your new journey. I was concerned about finances when I retired too. It took me about a year to adjust (more mental and less financial) to leaving something I did for a longtime. Now, I realize that I'll live longer by retiring and letting go of the grind.

Wife wanted me to retire at 56. It took me about a year to figure out how to make the finances run, so I retired at 57. I need to go back to work just to rest, but the finances did work out according to plan.

I'm "lucky" I guess that my forced retirement gave me the financial aid to live comfortably. While I don't recommend anyone have to retire like I did it's afforded me to do things I wouldn't have gotten to otherwise.
Best of luck to you and enjoy the freedom to do as you please.

Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. (y)

Decided I'm gonna have some fun with my departure. I asked my buddy to just print me up some little rectangle stickers/labels with my name and employment dates on 'em, as I want to place them around the plant in the most random of spots (like under the clock in my department, that just happens to be about 15' off the floor). Instead of what I asked for, he made me about 40 of these, in various sizes. One is taken from a work photo of me from about 35 years ago. The other was from my badge of about 6 years ago. Notice the apparent change in enthusiasm for my job? :ROFLMAO:

*The pens block-out my last name, just because. ;)

I hope people that don't know you, won't think the stickers are your life's birth date and end date.

I had considered that possibility. Oh, well. It's probably funnier to me than it will be to most folks, anyway. Still, there will be a few around who will appreciate it.

@Squatch I love that you're in your final week! May God bless your transition into a time when you work for yourself and your family.
Best wishes Squatch !

Thank you so much for that, Brother! I'm kind of nervous about it, I'll admit, but also very much looking forward to it. Lots and lots of lots and lots to do! ;)
