Does anyone know where this plugs into? I looked through the plug ID in the service manual and can't find it. I just replaced the heater core and am putting it back together, and this is in the steering column area. The orange wire traces back to the big gray plug on the far left side under the dash, the one above the big green and big red plug. The wire colors look to be orange, yellow, black with white stripe, and black.

Pretty sure that’s for the SKIM module. Does your Jeep use a black key or grey key?

Gray key. I'll see if I can find the plugin for the SKIM. Thank you!

Then you have SKIM. Don’t try and start it without plugging it back in first. The module sits under the steering column and the sensor wraps around the key cylinder.

Well, it's not for the SKIM. That one is plugged in already. I looked at the steering column very carefully and can't find anything there that isn't plugged in already. Might be something under the dash somewhere or else it's just an unused one. It looks like it was plugged in before though.

It's the plug for your fog light switch located below the 12V power socket.

That's what I originally thought, but that wire is there and plugged in already. In the socket identifier section in the service manual it's the only one I can find that seems to match up also. Kinda strange!

I thought the same thing initially. Maybe someone wired up a pigtail for an extra set of lights? Very strange.
