Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

I don't live in Moab and it isn't the only place I wheel so not sure how that applies? I've been wedged in-between enough trees that I didn't want flares sticking out this time.

I didn’t reply to you. I replied to EternalHobbyist with regard to him changing his opinion after TJFest, which is in Moab.

Get back to work.

I could say the same to you. Done any work to your project Jeep lately?

Slave driver... And I'm eating again... So be nice.

I looked at it. Sadly it’s not a priority right now.

That's too bad. I know where those axles would fit...

Got to get a email fired off to ORO and see what Steve has to say about how I got the height sensors setup. And to order new bushings.

I've got a 7' door in my garage..... This is the top of the cage in my Jeep.

I worked with some guys that built what they called a monster truck in a barn. Once done they had to cut a hole in the barn to get it out since it didn't fit out the door.

Yep I've seen it happen too. But was able to either let the air out of the tires or swap out the wheels for something smaller. Thankfully I've never had to cut a hole to get a rig out.

You have to learn to ignore the MC dislike. If you look around it's funny how many rigs actually have MC fenders on them.

It’s just Matson’s storytelling to sell that’s not liked. That bleeds onto the products at every open invitation. Nothing wrong with a fender per se. Steel though, that’s a sin. 😉

I had my reasons for going with steel over aluminum. And while I agree to a point about the story telling I see many transgressions from other brands without the same amount of dislike. Same with a lot of the other stereotypes and biased opinions around here. But we all know I'm not one who likes to toe the party lines. I've committed a ton of sins in my days.

I'll say this in support of MC (with my limited offroad knowledge...), I kept buying their parts because the just fit. I've worked on vehicles my whole life, and there is nothing more frustrating to me than to purchase products that are advertised to be a direct replacement and have them not fit. MC consistently delivered on fitment. For a guy that is still learning fabrication, there is a lot of value in that. Also, their customer service is damn good.

Again though, I'm excited to learn on the upcoming trip. I eager to see how I feel about my jeep afterword.

@Wildman I'm sorry for derailing your thread a bit.

I've only had limited experience with the customer support so can't really say a lot about that. And their corners & fenders are the only product that I've installed so far so haven't had any other experience with their stuff.
What sticks in those who dislike MC is their claim that their fenders can take a larger tire with no lift. And many do not like their Duroflex joints. Some have had them separate when used for extreme flexing but then there are those who have been running them for many years and haven't had any issues with them.

Will be watching your build thread to hear what you think of all your MC stuff once you get back from Moab.

Shit this ain't even a minor derail compared to some of them this build thread has had... Don't get the haters started on the thought that I was given advice and then didn't follow it.... Some got so BUTTHURT that they no longer follow me or comment...

Another reason I went with the MC fenders was I liked the looks of the Overline fenders. I'm not a fan of the Arched fenders BTW.

It is possible my memory is wrong, but I don't think the Overline fenders had come out yet when I purchased mine. I think I got mine in 2011. I was under the impression that I was avoiding a highline while accomplishing the same thing with when I made the purchase. It seems that has been disproven since.

My fault for not checking this sooner 😪. I had planned on checking this out but always got sidetracked.
And I'm on hold and it tells me to press #1 to leave a message. Tried that and the mailbox is full.

I'm not sure when they released the Overline fenders.
What you've experienced is what caused the dislike for them.
