Lacking interest

You can tell that the inside of the frame is flaking and rusting just from the pics. It's a tough situation, very common in my area. Each person is going to have their own opinions and how many years it has or doesn't have left is purely a matter of speculation. Don't be surprised at the number of local people that will reject it out of hand, then proceed to drag their own vehicles through the salt and mud without proper care or maintenance.

Dollars, condition, and location. If the ask was $100K his great grandchildren will still be trying to sell it. If the ask was $10 it would have sold in seconds.

It doesn’t look that bad to me, and I’m restoring an Ohio Jeep that definitely looked worse from what I can tell. I think people are holding their money.

rusty frames don’t scare me.
How about now?

ding ding ding ding

I think some haven't noticed that the economy, the country, perhaps the world is in free fall, people are getting squeezed from every conceivable angle & at some point they hit the point where a discretionary 10k (or the thought of borrowing 10k more) for a toy is just too much to contend with. I think the number of those folks is increasing daily at a breakneck pace & as they disappear so do quick sales for rigs like this. A few years ago before humanity was plunged into darkness to purge orange man that thing would've sold pretty quickly, rust or not.

Watching for Jeep deals on Craigslist a lot I’ve noticed they just aren’t selling. The same Jeeps remain day after day and some pretty nice with reasonable prices.

In Ohio, have done a frame swap, I would be skeptical that frame doesn't need patched/replaced.

This country is "confused" right now. Times have changed for the worse. If you suck at sports as a man, just become a "piss poor excuse for a woman" and move to the top of the class.

Having looked at a ton of NE jeeps over the years, I'll agree there is likely some internal rust and flaking, especially given the absence of drain holes. But speaking relatively, that frame is one of the better ones I've seen (at least from pictures). I wouldn't call it 'toast' by NE standards.. We don't see too many of the pristine frames some of you do. It's just the cost of doing business.

TJs just aren't selling around here. My buddy has three, one Rubi, that are all in good to very good condition and while they would have sold in a weekend not too long ago, he can't seem to get rid of them.

Try putting it on “bring a trailer” I have heard good luck with this site.

That frame is toast, and any frame that needs safetycaps is still toast. Torque boxes at body mounts look like they’re hiding some nice surprises as well. GLWS at that price point.
Frame and torque boxes are a mess. Regardless of what folks "will" accecpt, that does not make them acceptable. Any frame that has caps and repair pieces that were used to replace rotted out sections is crap and an absolute deal breaker. Throw in those torque boxes and I wouldn't take that rig for free.

I mean for free I wouldn’t be scared to make it work…. Wrecked rust free tubs are out there, depends how much work you want to do.

Personally I would think twice about buying a used TJ Rubicon these days. All those special parts that make it a Rubicon are almost impossible to find replacements for if they break. If you can find them they are extremely expensive. Last I looked used TJ Rubicon transfer cases were going for over $2500
