Well since I've cooked two Warn M8000 motors...winch is in Clackamas for warranty (maybe) support.

New 9.5 on the bumper...M8000 will move to the JK...motor is so big it deserves a sticker... here's your three choices...help me decide!

Not what you asked for but I thought you might appreciate the input

This also came up, but I think it would look better on my rig. I apologize for being selfish.

How do you connect anything to your winch line 🤷‍♂️

I made my own freedom winch line...I tied a diamond knot on to the end of the line and there are two splice points to hook it back through.

The rope is what I've been expecting to fail me since I bought it on Amazon two years ago. It was red. I call it my pink barbie Jeep rope.

The hawse also is junk. Was black. Anodizing turned dark bronze in the sun in less than a day. Top is a little bent.

So the cheap junk I bought on Amazon has outlasted my made in China assembled in Clackamas winch.

The M8000-s is made in China? Makes me feel worse about its price tag.

The parts are made in China. All Warn parts are now a days. The Evo line is assembled in China. All the rest of the Warn winches are assembled in Clackamas, Oregon.

Difference I currently see between HF and Warn is support. I can call Warn. I can email Warn. I can drop by their office. HF will sell you a two year no questions asked warranty and just hand you another winch. For two years. I think Warn is 8 years.

I have a M12000 winch on my 2001 F250. Made in the early 90s. Never had a single issue with the winch...just my wiring coming loose... learning hard lessons.

Were you doing things beyond what it’s rated for or are Warn winches no longer as good?

I’m not paying 4x as much for product support (autozone-like warranty model).

Edit: Is the 9500 version of higher quality? I’ll be in the market for a low profile winch and I previously figured I’d go with a M8000-s for its reliability.

Possibly. Probably. I'm pretty good at watching duty cycles on motors.

I probably need to use double line pulls more.

I suspect my Optima yellow top battery isn't helping much.

Death of a thousand cuts?

Lots of videos on my YouTube channel. I'll let you come to your own conclusions.
