My buddy with a hot rod shop has a HAAS CNC machine and is looking to get into machining small parts and get into the Jeep game. I am curious if yall have any small (or not) parts that you think have a market in the Jeep world.

first thoughts i have are some machined seat slider support bushings since the replacements dont last.

any other thoughts from yall?

thanks.

I hate to rain on the parade but I have seen people try this exact thing and it doesn't ever work out. You need to factor in all costs plus your time and shipping etc. Once you do that add 20 percent for profit you are going to be shocked what your actual cost would need to be for the widget you have in mind. Then deal with packaging, shipping, issues etc and people lose interest really fast. Just my .02

The spacer for the grille rubbers would be one. Many body lift kits don't supply a spacer or it's not very good. Of course I'm talking about ones other than Savvy.

i can understand that for sure.. he already has the HAAS machine to machine custom wheels and such.. was curious about little things that could be made out of the smaller blocks of material.

Riser for stock third brake light. When larger tires are added either have to replace the light or find a way to make it visible over tire. Spacers to move bumpers outboard to contact larger/different offset spare wheels on tailgate.

I like the first idea.

The second idea will probably lead to sadness if you drop on your bumper with any force, I've even managed to twist my crossmember in the back a tiny bit

The problem with the spacers to move the tire snubbers out is they need to be difference thicknesses. They need to NOT be silver or raw material, and they will cost the end user roughly 25 bucks each if they meet that criteria. No seller wants to put up with bullshit of 50 assholes telling everyone that they are stupid to pay that much when a 30 cent hockey puck does the same job. There are lots of things I could make and try to sell, my tolerance for extra bullshit in my life stops that.

Same with the riser. Make a nice one that looks great and 20 folks will give you crap for not using PVC cut to length with longer bolts.
