Mildly Out of Hand 02 Sahara Build

I was in a pretty serious accident about a month ago that left my hand and wrist unusable for the next year or so. With all the recovery and surgeries the jeep has been sort of put on hold now that I haven’t really been able to work on it, go to work, and I still want to graduate college in June. However I did have some buddies lend me a hand and I got my new corners and sliders mocked up.

I’m still torn on whether or not to do a rear fender flair. Let me know what you guys think.

This will all be done in black when it’s done.

Last little update was that I also snagged some air bumps for the rear for a super good deal

Flairs are nice if you do anything were it's wet. Plus it'll match the front.

Sorry to.hear about the accident. Hope you heal quickly.

Thanks Alex, my hand was crushed so I ended up losing a lot of carpal bones. It looks like my wrist and thumb will have to be fused. I'll definitely have to adapt and rely on my left hand. Doc says 1-2 year recovery. Jeep work is obviously at a standstill but I think I'll run the fenders

Sorry to hear about your injury. I shattered a pinky a few years ago, and surgery was largely unsuccessful. Even that took months to recover from. I can't imagine what you're going through. Best of luck with your recovery.

They were originally going to amputate my hand, so I luckily dodged that. It is definitely a long road ahead, hopefully I can get out wheeling sooner rather than later.

Being someone who had an appendage saved but then had to deal with pain for 13 years I give you my best wishes and prayers.
They are making some amazing advancements in prosthetics so if you had to have a amputation it isn't the end of the world.

I appreciate the support, hopefully having good docs and being healthy and 22 will help me heal up. I have seen some crazy prosthetic technology online. Not being able to use my right arm or hand at all the past 5 weeks has given me tons of respect for amputees. It sure as hell hasn't been easy!

The newest prosthetics for the hand use a sensor that is put under your skin and is connected to a nerve. Then as you flex those muscles the fingers on the hand move. MY prosthetist was showing me one a few months ago that he was working on for a patient.

Being young is a big plus and I really wish you the best & hope you heal up good as new. Do what the doctors tell you to and until you're healed don't get a head of your recovery. Rehurting yourself SUCKS...
Just know that if you get to the point where they are telling you it's as good as it'll ever get and you're not happy know you have options. Nothing can replace the real thing but some of the new technology is pretty amazing.

Got my muffler installed along with some hangers. Upon the recommendation of the guys at genright I went with a 14 inch magnaflow (it was from their quiet series on summit iirc). It’s really not much louder than stock and it’s way smaller. I had to clock it a bit but it all cycles perfectly. I’d say it’s a good option for the lj guys or stretched tj like mine. I’ll eventually ditch the turndown and route to the back of the jeep, but for now it’s fine. Just in time for Cali smog

Thanks for the kind words I’ll keep you posted when I have big updates. I’m lucky to have friends who lend helping hands on the jeep

How much room do you have for the gas filler tube after the stretch and outboard? Looks tight but doable.

Does the rear tire clean the rear of the wheel well a full stuff? The pic makes it look tight.

Yep believe it or no not when I cycled, the tire didn't even get into the body shown in this pic behind the corner, but I trimmed the corner to make it appear more centered in the wheelwell. Plenty of space no rubbing, although I do agree it looks tight.
