Ready for camping season and being back in the office.

I have a decent scanner. Nothing professional but hopefully it’s worth it’s $100 lol I just wonder if it will scan anything since it hasn’t ran in four days.

HF $100 jobber got me through the engine replacement. Had to buy another ~$100 unit that included ABS code reading ability for the (since gone) WK. Those are a life saver for sure at very reasonable price.

I have a blue driver from Amazon. Had lots of good reviews and can read live data and codes and all that good stuff. Uses Bluetooth and a smartphone.

I've found that the easiest thing to bite me in these situations is getting the initial timing right. Weather it's off by one cylinder on the cap, or 180 out, or just a few degrees off.
Put a timing light on it while it's cranking as a sanity check.

Yea that’s not a bad idea. I did double check that I had it set on the compression stroke. The engine is a lot easier to crank by hand after spinning it with the starter a dozen times. I have a timing light that I can hook up to it today. I pulled the battery to charge it up yesterday and I put a new crank sensor on it just because I had a new OEM one that I purchased a couple months back. I checked the block grounds with my meter and get 12v from the battery to ground. I need to check for spark just to be sure it’s there and then go from there.

I'm biting my nails and wishing you the best. (y)
p.s. Do you smash that fingernail weekly or are you a slow healer?

I smashed that thumb like a month or more ago. Judging from the hole I drilled in it it’s grown about 1/4” since then lol still can’t get this rebuild to fire up. I feel like smashing a couple more fingers might bring my spirits up 😂

Great success. Finally got the old girl fired up and working on the break in for the new cam and lifters. Holding 45-50 psi on oil pressure so far

I haven't said anything yet, but I've been following this with great trepidation! I'm really happy to hear you got it running!
