What did you do to your TJ today?

Kiwi, I have an 03. Here’s the link…

JSP Manufacturing Aftermarket Hood Prop Rod Clip Retainer Keeper # J4007456 for Jeep Wrangler YJ/TJ Dodge Chrysler Replacement Part https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C82NJJ9/?tag=wranglerorg-20
Thanks and yep thats the exact one I bought... I saw TJ and thought yesssss..... but should have read the small print... only good if you have a 2000 onwards.
Looks like Im going back to the wreckers to hunt for a clip........or open my tool box and grab some electrical tape @All 4 Wheelin' ;) (y)

Didn't want to cut off the mint OEM khaki dark tan door uppers that came with my half doors so I sourced a set of super rusted and shot to shit upper door frames, sanded them down, welded the breaks, coated in POR15, and wrapped in some new bestop upper skins. So, I suppose I'll be listing a set of super clean Khaki dark tan uppers soon.

Also finally got around to setting up this air compressor I bought two years ago to paint a Comanche I ended up selling before I ever got around to it. Figured the air would make cutting all the brackets off the TJ easier.

Didn't really do anything to the TJ yet today but stopped by Iron Rock to pick up some lower control arm brackets for it.

You getting the brackets for the JT?

Also, the 60gal compressor should work out just fine. While I have never owned one, spent many weekends in a friends driveway who owned a 60gal comp. I need more garage space.

Changed the rear shocks.... WITHOUT breaking bolts! One side came out with the 3/8's electric impact only. Driver side needed propane torch until smoking, then quenched with PB and then the 3/8 impact. Not the most foolproof method, but worked this time. Didn't want to risk the 1/2 air and it paid off. I figure the time in TX and having been done 5-10 years ago helped too.

I brought home a stable mate to keep ”Jade“ company. It was more of an adoption than purchase, since it needs a new motor and was headed to the crusher. I talked to the owner 2 years ago and am glad he remembered I was interested in it. Straight body, AX15, and low rust is a great starting point for a build. My wife is finishing up the school year this week, so I should have time starting in late August to work on it.

Was time to do the post-winter polishing of the ProComps. Used the full Flitz line which, given the numerous products I have tried over many years of various polished aluminum wheels, seems to be the best and easiest.

Before and after...

Followed @Woodrow and went center-capless and switched to black Gorilla locks all around.

Also had a chance to install the steering wheel I had reskinned by Chris at LeatherGoods.com. He was great to work with. On a scale of 1:10 I give the wheel an 8. It's wider grip feels fantastic (had him do 4.25" circumference all the way around the wheel). The leather is nice enough. Stitching is far better than I would have done, I'm sure.

Why not a 10? It's it bit shinier than the boot and armrest I got from Redline, and a bordering on squishy with the added padding.

I still have the original wheel which is in great condition, and the RedlineGoods wheel wrap which matches the boot and armrest perfectly. I may take my time with trying to reskin the OE wheel.. or not.

Today I replaced the front sway bar links with some extended ones. I didn’t realize how shitty the ones I put on a couple years ago were until I pulled them out. They were looser than Jenna Jameson after a gang bang but somehow still holding on. I also fixed a short in my fog light wiring. I got my factory steps finished up but still need to mount them to the frame rail.
