The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

Clearance lights for his wide ass wheels!

WTF is with the side markers on the flares?

1970's-80's law in Va. Tires that stuck out past the flares had to have reflectors/lights to pass state inspections. Better than having DUMBO flares to cover the tires I gues . Good thing I couldn't drive back then.

Nothing says hard core more than plastic. Especially plastic diamond plate. Someone has a JC Whitney account.
The pieces on the doors and rockers are non-skid adhesive backed stair treads from Harbor Freight.

That's hilarious! I remember back in the day what a great catalog that was. My dad's super beetle had every aluminum trim piece accessory you could get, for very little money! 😉
I built a VW Karmann Ghia almost entirely from parts found in the JC Whitney catalog.

That's WAY better than that TJ. Actual custom work is kinda cool even if it isn't a style I'd choose. Big difference from bolting on stupid aftermarket crap.

He DID sell it after a year, for under $3,000 with 270,000 miles on it. Apparently, someone else thought "The Walking Dead" was real.
