Mid-arm LJ Rubicon

Do I see wontons and fodeez in your future?

Long term yes.

This phase will include, cutting back on weight with the aluminum corners. Cut the frame in front of the mid arm brackets, stretch to the second LJ crossmember. Top it off with some mini boat sides.

I’ve been looking around for some type of rack/tray to mount above the cargo area behind the back seat. I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for, so I made my own! Sketched up a tray, dimpled the holes and mounted it to the tub last night. Still debating on whether to keep it raw aluminum or coat it black.

The dog bone shaped cut outs are for “e-track” tie down points. This will give me plenty of options when securing items to the tray. I am planning for tools/heavier items down low. Small cooler, lunch box and recovery gear on top.

Nice work! Laser cut?

Thank you. Yep, Had a local shop burn it and bend the edges.
That looks great! I still am interested in your front tow hooks if they ever become available!
Thanks! They are still on the back burner. I need to buckle down and finalize the small details. Hearing interest helps motivate to get back to them!

Dam that turned out nice. I think I might pull my “trunk” out and do the same. I love using those tie downs too.

Did you dimple with the Swag Off-road dies? If so, how did they perform (been looking at them myself for a while now)?

Not sure what brand they are. A buddy has a set he let me use. I used the press method to complete the process.
If laser cutting the dimpled holes, Over size them slightly (.030") This and lots of grease while dimpling will help the die from getting suck in the hole.

Speaking of which, who's the first under the knife at BFHG?

We technically started mine and it's 1 side ready for paint. I just have little free time starting a new business and haven't gotten into the other side yet. There's 4 more projects sitting on my bench I want to get to...
