What did you do to your TJ today?

Been out of town and working OT when I'm not... finally got a little time yesterday and the rest of today to try to get some more work done on this mid arm.

For anybody that has installed this front truss before, are you intended to weld to the ends of the axle housing at all (aside from the top ears) or just the tubes and spring perch? Pretty sure the pumpkin is cast iron and I'd need to heat that up to something like 400° and wrap it afterward is my understanding. I'm an amateur welder and just have a Hobart 190 and little mapp gas bottle to get this done.

Don't look into the fitment and cleanliness too much here, still need to grind a little factory weld out of the way and clean the whole axle up first. Just a test fit

I replaced the battery with an Interstate from Costco. I really need to clean up some of my wiring. I think I will start with some new upgraded cables from JEEPCABLES.COM A little pricey but isn’t everything nowadays? Has anyone here used them?
Thanks,

I did the Big 7 kit from JeepCables a few months ago in anticipation of a higher output alternator.

My big win for today...

I have been chasing a single, persistent squeak in the front end for over a year. I was always pretty confident it was coming from the discos, and it was, but I had been lubing with CRC HD Silicone Lube and it did nothing. Tried the PB Blaster Silicone Lube and the squeak is now gone. Bought a little 3 oz can so I can hit the discos every few fill-ups.

That is all...

I got a persistent squeak in mine, or so my wife tells me. I can’t hear it so I have no idea where it’s coming from. 😂

Installed the Savvy Belly up crossmember. Removed some surface rust from the frame and repainted it. Hopefully tonight I'll have time to replace the front pinion seal. Installed rebuilt transfer case with a 6 pinion planetary wide chain kit and sye. It also has the tereflex 2wheel drive low kit. busy weekend.

I just got a new pinion seal for my front axle too. Just need to get around to getting it replaced.

I need to get around to fixing this as well. After the body lift it’s a little short but still functional lol I took the clamps off and sprayed some WD-40 on the plastic part the hose clamps onto. I stuck I pocket screwdriver in to try to break the seal but maybe over the weekend I’ll get some time to get it stretched out. 26 years of clamping force won’t let go that easily lol

Got the EGT gauge installed in place of the Autometer transmission gauge. This gauge immediately came in handy for telling me when to back off the throttle under boost since I'm not intercooled, and it should help me dial in the future water/meth injection.

The custom A-pilar gauges are a work in progress. I need to finalize the architecture of the MAP sensor & solenoid to the boost controller and wire it all up.

To my surprise, the Aeroforce OBD2 gauge seems to provide the transmission temp through the PCM. If the info is accurate, I won't be making use of the analog temp sender/bung in the transmission pan until there's a reason to do so. I could use the temp sensor to monitor engine oil temp., but I'm not sure I want to know that number.

The Aeroforce gauge's data looks faded and blue in the photo, but it's more vibrant and white in person.
