Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

Got the drivers side header installed. What a PITA....

Still have to install the Stage8 keepers.

Got the Stage8 keepers installed except for ONE. The spring clip sprung off and I haven't found it yet. So if I still can't find it I'll order a few as spares.

Next is to get the Y-pipe hooked up and then the cat and muffler. Then install the O2 sensors and get them all connected.

Got the exhaust reinstalled and the only thing left is a downturn pipe.

Starting at the muffler looking forward.

Then the catalytic converter.

I might have to clearance the head of this screw a little bit.

But overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. I will add a exhaust hanger to the muffler I think.

Here's a short video of it running. Had to cycle the ignition switch like 3 times to get it to start so I might try installing the check valve to see if it helps.

I also watched the wide band O2 sensor also when I started it for the first time and for the 45 seconds it was running I was seeing around 12.9 fuel mixture. I'll run it again later and watch it more to see what it does. I've still got to get the electric fan and water temp sensor hooked up still.

My daughter was in the house with the front door open and she says it was loud. I was right there and honestly felt that it wasn't that loud. I think with a turndown it'll help some also but will have to wait and see.
I know it's really hard to tell in a video how it truly sounds but IMO it isn't bad for what I'm working with.

Looking good!

I figure you resolved this but better to mention it than it be overlooked. Looks like you're missing a bolt on the driver header flange.

Sounds great! Inching closer and closer to mobility.

I had to get a button head bolt for that spot because the upper link for the Savvy upper arm was making contact with the bolt. So to give it another 1/2" of up travel I replaced that one bolt and have it facing up. But thanks for mentioning it.

Here's one video for the Wide Band readings.
Going to be a learning curve on using this. I've never had one other than when checking out a rig in the shop.

Started to work on my brakes again.
Installed the fittings into the ball valve. Also put a 90⁰ fitting on the top to help with the routing of the lines.

Used Loctite thread sealant on the fittings.

With the way I'd mounted the ball valve I had to grind one nut down to clear the center console cross brace.

But then I opened up the package from Amazon to find this.

Can't use the line with a banjo fitting.
New line will be here next week.

The lines I'm using to do the ball valve were ones I'd ordered for the axles but were too short. But they work great for this.

Just need to weld the tabs to the frame and I can get them hooked up.

Inside the console.

I'll add rubber grommets to the floor before I finish it up.

Damn it, I didn't dodge fast enough. The negative magnet clamp for my welder got me....

Brake line tabs are welded on. Once they cool I'll paint them and then get all the lines made up and hooked up.

The lines for the ball valve will go here.

While I was watching the paint dry I messed around with a piece of 90* & 45* pipe for a turndown for the exhaust off the muffler.

Here's the 45*

20230603_175237.jpg

And the 90*

20230603_175142.jpg

20230603_175427.jpg

Whichever one I choose I think I'll do a 45* cut on the end of the pipe to angle it out towards the side. And of course I don't want it to hang down as much either.
Need to play with both pipes a bit more and try to decide.

Comments? Suggestions? Ideas?

The 45° looks like it's aimed toward the axle near the bag... Probably wouldn't be an issue, but we know how probablies have been working out, don't we....

Tried to get some better pictures.

More of the 45* pipe on there.

I'd like to cock it over some to blow the exhaust towards side of the Jeep.

20230603_225720.jpg

So I'd need to make a cut like this.

20230603_225743.jpg

That would also allow it to clear the upper arm as it moves.

20230603_225843.jpg

The 90* would need the same type of cut to clear that upper arm.

I would like it to exit the rear. Though, that would be a BIG jump over the axle.
