You guys and your crazy long wheelbase ‘5s - well, at least compared to my ‘71…
You’re the only person on the planet to accuse my 5 of that, ha!
1966 CJ5, with the Buick 225 (and the Carter 2BBL). Bought it 1990 and it had about 8 layers of paint on it. Ground the paint off, rebuilt the engine and paired it with a Ford T-18 transmission. Loved that thing. Sold it to pay Dr. bills in 2001. Bought my new(er) Jeep in 2020 after a round with Kidney Cancer. Life’s too short to not drive a Jeep!! I have a ‘13 F350, an ‘18 F150, but my DD is a 2000 TJ!

But remember, my first vehicle was a ‘71 CJ5 - same short wheelbase as that ‘66.
And thinking on your point, perhaps I’m just overcompensating for that first rig…
1993 YJ Sahara - 2.5" lift, SYE, Ford 8.8, 32" MTR's. Had loads of fun in that thing!
1998 Comanche pickup. Never buy a 2 wheel drive anything Jeep. You get the funniest look’s from people when you can’t get up that snow covered hill in the hood
First Jeep was a gray 2000 TJ. Bought it used from a Chevy dealer in 2004...was lifted, had cool bumpers & wheels. Drove great, but I'm a stubborn SOB at times. Was driving it about 45 min to/from work every day, pretty much with the doors & windows off. Would change into shorts & t-shirt at work and come home sweaty as all get out but I didn't care. Then the summer of 07 came. It was wet. Rained all the dang time. Got dumped on like 10 times on my way home from work, and rather than just putting the windows & doors on, I decided to sell it. I traded it for what I had into it, never had to put new tires or anything. Wish I had it back. Actually, I wish I even had a picture of it. I found the vin in some old paperwork, I've considered trying to chase it down. One day about a year later, driving down Preston in Dallas it pulled up right next to me. I was so excited. Not sure why. Probably because it was the one that got away.
1943 Ford GPW. Selling that Jeep is one of my biggest mistakes. I loved it but sold it when I went to work in the South Pacific. Even had all the Ford script bolts.
Brand new 1977 CJ7 Levi's Edition. Snapping the top back on.
