What did you do to your TJ today?

i changed the oil in the AX15 today with Redline MT-90. It did remind me of a nice feature that I actually miss about the NSG370 - the drain plug is actually far enough forward to drain straight out without having to rig up some cardboard to direct it around the skidplate, also the plug is huge so it drains in a few seconds, and it points straight down so there's no guessing at it's trajectory to position the drain pan.

The nv3550 also put the drain plug forward of the skid but I messed that access up by installing an engine skid.

Got the EGT gauge installed in place of the Autometer transmission gauge. This gauge immediately came in handy for telling me when to back off the throttle under boost since I'm not intercooled, and it should help me dial in the future water/meth injection.

The custom A-pilar gauges are a work in progress. I need to finalize the architecture of the MAP sensor and solenoid...and need to wire in the boost controller but ran out of time.

To my surprise, the Aeroforce OBD2 gauge seems to provide the transmission temp through the PCM. If the info is accurate, I won't be making use of the analog temp sender/bung in the transmission pan until there's a reason to do so. I could use the temp sensor to monitor engine oil temp., but I'm not sure I want to know that number.

The Aeroforce gauge's data looks faded and blue in the photo, but it's vibrant and white in person.

What other info do you have on the custom A-Pilar gauge pods? Is it something you made?

I'm still learning that answer myself, but so far the Aeroforce gauge provides Ambient temp, Air intake temp, transmission temp, coolant temp, battery percentage, battery temp, fuel trims, alternator %, engine load, timing, throttle position (and more). I purchased the gauge mainly to track IATs and transmission temps since the turbo adds so much heat.

The gauge also reads and clears DTCs.

I prefer the fit & finish of this over a Scanguage, and I like the functionality more than using an Android deck & Torque app (frees up the screen for music and maps).

I took a chance and had Ortiz Customs add pods to a stock A-pillar (they can also do a single pod setup). I didn't send them my original A-pillar (just in case things didn't go well). I'm happy with it so far and would buy another one over the other pod options I've seen available.

It's not functioning properly in that bag.

Yea maybe this weekend I’ll get to it. I also have a lunchbox locker to put in the front Dana 30 so I’ve been thinking of trying to knock it all out at once. Might look into the inner seals as well since I’ll have it mostly apart at that point.

That’s pretty cool. Thanks for the info. (y)

I did too but at least the engine skid is an easy removal. My UCF tcase skid is steel and weighs 80 pounds so I'm not messing with that.

With the nsg plug pointing straight down it's conceivable one could drill a hole in the engine skid to drain the transmission.

Good to know on the nv3550. If I'd known that last year I might have swapped in one of those instead. 🤣

Got a couple hours in before work today. All prepped and primed. Need to weld on the truss/upper ca bracket, Iron Rock lower arm brackets, and BMB sway brackets next. Then some paint. Got new wheel bearings, ball joints, pads/rotors, and RCVs for it.

Next up on the project I need to cut the factory CA mounts off and paint the front half of the frame

I’m helping them learn english...I know uno, dos, tres and Selena Gomez so I’m pretty fluent.

We sing LaCucaracha a lot-its about a cockroach with a disability.

We also sing a song called “Keiths Gay” a lot.... its about our worst worker. They like that song.
