Hey everyone,

I have a 05 Rubicon with an RMS leak which I've known about but about 2 weeks ago I thought my rear differential pinion seal was leaking so I went ahead and replaced that along with the yolk no issues there and it started leaking again today the oil that's leaking from where the pinion seal is doesn't feel, smell or look like diff fluid? so im wondering is it possible that my RMS leak is dripping/splashing to my rear diff? my diff fluid is rather new with about 100-200 miles so it's still practically clear but the fluid that's leaking down is dark and it looks like my engine oil. Is it possible that it is my engine oil?

Thanks,
Logan

I have an RMS leak. I don’t see our rear main seal leak succeeds to reach the rear diff.

The weird part is it isn’t a solid stream of oil it’s all splattered like this.

Clean it well, dry it and take it for a ride.

I agree with Tex, if it were your RMS it would have to get past a lot of other things to get to the diff. You should have fluid on the front of the transfer, skid, etc. if it's from the front of the jeep.
