Rock Slider Recommendations for 06 LJ

Those have been discussed in the main rock slider thread. Overall seems good but from what I can gather from reading what other thought, those need more bolts attaching to the tub.

Just heads up, check the shipping cost. I went to price them out and they were nearly $400 to me which brings me up to the price of other sliders that usually have free shipping

FYI, I just updated and re-ranked the Rock Sliders/Rocker Guard guide thread.

Honestly, if the Savvy's are unavailable and prices for the others that still need modification are so high, and you really need some, it's time to fab your own. I'm thinking about doing a set for my sons 04' Sport just as a project to see how it goes.

Several folks on the forum are doing just that actually. Haven’t seen any final pictures but I bet they’ll pop up this summer

I look forward to seeing them. Particularly interested in how much interior space is lost.

Thanks for reranking them! When did you do that? I read through the full review a few days ago

This morning. All the links work, prices are updated, some of the wording and updated modifications added, and re-ranked. I pulled from other posts in this thread for the updates and reasons for re-ranking. For your purposes just the last few sliders are all you are interested in I think.

No interior space is lost. No more than Savvy takes away interior space if you copy their interior backer plates.

Only two I've had are Poison Spider and Savvy. The Poison Spider are garbage and did some pretty gnarly body damage. That and a few other PS 'oopsies' and I'm never buying another PS product again.

The Savvy sliders work great, no complaints.

I saw on Facebook, Gerald Lee said the TJ parts will be on the new Savvydesignz site soon. So we'll see...

A single set done correctly without any big mistakes is astoundingly time intensive. I'm good at it and I wouldn't even want to do a set from scratch. Just getting the side piece drawn up and ready to go to the bender and then bent will burn up 10 hours. Unless you get very lucky and find a shop that will work with you on a single set, the time chasing down a bender will burn up another 10 easily.

Does anyone make a full aluminum slider without a step? My LJ sees very mild trails now a days. So, I'm looking to get rid of my steel sliders and go to a full aluminum slider.
I was considering taking my sliders to a fabrication shop and have them fabricate a set-in aluminum.

The only aluminum slider I think I’ve ever seen is the genright ones but they obviously have a step and coast $1,400.

Undercover fab makes them for TJ, not sure for LJ

I’m sure you’re right about the time investment. I have a friend who owns a full Fab shop with CNC, et al. He designs via CAD. That would be who I go to if I ever get antsy. I thought about him for designs for you or others. Most of their contracts are for aluminum products.

Yeah, and they’re not recommended for rocks.

Ya even on their website it states for sand or snow guys.

I'm not worried about rocks. I stopped playing on them a while ago. Mine mostly see fire roads and mild trails. The Genright's are way more than I want to spend, and they have a step to them.

The Savvy aluminum rocker base (no slider) could be an option when they come back in stock.

Lightweight and no step, though I’m not sure I’d count on them holding up to hard hits without that steel slider.

Sand and snow only!
