James & The Sahara Build Thread

Well on my hunt for a shift boot last friday and found Stronghold Shift boots. A guy in his garage handmaking a bunch of vinyl shift boots. Purchased one on friday, got it today. I can only say that this thing is unremarkably thought out. The corners/stitching/mounting tabs make it so simple to install. Finally starting to look like I have a finished Jeep.

I really enjoy supporting products like this and am comfortable reccomending this $30 shift boot above all others. Comes in any vinyl/stitch combo you want.
That really is a good looking shift boot. Nice purchase!

I have to say, if you approach whatever career you choose in life the same way you have dealt with your TJ, you are going to do quite well. You're an impressive young man, James. Definitely a "Let's get this done" kind of guy. Great job!
I appreciate that! I can only hope I can find a career I’m passionate about :).

That can make all the difference in the world, James. Just don't necessarily expect to find it right from the start. Sometimes you have to experience jobs that are nothing more than a stepping stone to your true calling, first. I see a lot of impatience in the young people who get hired-on where I work. I'm sorry, but "immediate gratification" rarely applies when establishing a career. Ask most of the old timers on this forum, and I think they'd back me up on that. ;)

I appreciate the wise words. I know I’ve gotta hit some stepping stones to reach it!

Thanks for sharing although my TJ spending has haulted for a while. You don’t want it? ;)
I know I’ve been looking for one for forever and this one is complete. After it’s all painted and installed I bet after buying it a guy would be into the kit for 6k easy. I love my tj, but I don’t think I could throw that kind of money into this jeep haha. If my jeep was tan it would be so much easier!

Miss reading your build thread. I know you said your Jeep spending was done but we still enjoy your offroad pictures.

Hope all is well man!
All is well, super busy since finals. Some more photos will come in a weekend or two, auburn just opened its first offroad park so looking to check that out. I picked up a 2014 Honda Grom and have been dailying it currently. Here are some photos of what I’ve been up to lately:

Jeep photos will come. The Jeep has been holding up well, having some issues with the front brakes squeaking. I attribute it to the tons of mud contaminating the pads. Ball joints & header still need to be sorted. Also started a new job at a body shop a couple months ago. I do paint correction and liking it quite well so far. Summer classes start soon..

Sorry for becoming a ghost ahahahah.
