Hi, I'm new here and would like the help of you. I just bought my 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I would like to make it look more aggressive. I am thinking of putting a wheel of 17 "and 33" tires. Can you tell me if the wheel and tire configurations on the links fit in my jeep?

Note I plan to put the lift kit:

I'll need anything more for these changes?

Thanks!

You'll need an adjustable front trackbar at that height. Generally RC lifts are discouraged as they ride poorly. 17's are another one, 15" wheels have better offerings, are cheaper, and handle airing down better until you reach like a 40" tire. That said, if you are diggin it, go for it. Post up some pics when done.

33's could zap some power. 32's would maybe be ok. I went with 32's, but I have the 2.4 with the 6 speed manual. It carries the Jeep fine, but 6th won't see much use.

You are going to want to add gears to your bill for 33s.

There must have been a time
when we could have said no.

Gonna be a dog. I wasn't happy with mine, 2.4/6 spd/3.73/31 combo. Running 4.88 now, much better.

You’ll also need an adjustable front track bar
A rear trackbar relocation bracket
A TCase drop or motor mount lift or SYE and DCDShaft
Longer sway bar end links front and rear

Do the lift first, then the tires. I’d consider a better quality lift, something like the Zone

Rob5589 sorry I have a question. With this lift I can arrive with a 40 "tire on a 15" wheel without problems?

40" tire on 3.25 lift?? Not a chance. What I was referring to is sidewall height in relation to rim diameter. A 40" tire has enough sidewall on a 17/18" wheel to be compliant when aired down whereas a 33" tire on a 17" wheel does not have the same type of compliance.

Now I get it. Sorry because I do not have any experience. You can help me and tell me if a wheel 17 with the measures as it is in the link

I would need to put spacer or something else. And what would be the measures of a big tire that I could put in the 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2 doors, 6cly with 3” lifted?

The biggest tire you could put on that 17x8.5 rim with 3” of lift is a 32” or possibly a 33” if you don’t flex much and bumpstop accordingly

just put a set of 315-70-17" on my 97 tj, tires measure 34.5" rides good , i live in west mass. a lot of mountains. have 2.5l , 5 speed trans, a little power loss but having a manual tranny helps. if it was a automatic, i wouldn't go much bigger than 32" tire . it has a 4" lift and 1.25 body lift

Between my sister and I we have 3 Jeeps, all later model TJ/LJ with 4.0. I have had and still have a variety of various tires and wheels. My LJ has a 6 speed manual and had the wrong axles under it when I bought it. It had 31” tires with 3.0? Gears. The 6 speed has a low first gear so it was not bad but 6th gear was unusable, lots of freeway downshifting between 5 and 4th. Today it has 4.56 gears and 35” tires on 17” wheels, perfect combo. I have the amazing big brake kit which requires 16” or larger wheels. Not many tires offered for 16” wheels so I jumped to 17s when I found a deal on my Raceline beadlocks.

I don’t see any reason to run 17s on a Jeep if you can run 15s other than using cheap JK takeoffs with adapters. I have a set of those too. They are bound for my TJ. But it’s only that way because it’s for sale and test drives well with those street tires.

I also have a set of pristine 16” TJ Rubicon wheels with some all terrain 33s. I plan to use those on street and sand but might sell them? The 33s also work well with 4.56 gears on my LJ and the 3.73s on my TJ.

For off roading you want a flexible sidewall load rang C tire, those are mostly available for 15” tires. My recommendation is to stay with a 15” wheel. If you have a 4cyl automatic I’d guess a 31” tire is your best choice.
