I am looking for a shop to swap in an Auto transmission into my 2003 jeep TJ. I live in SW Virginia but will to travel to a reputable shop for the work to be done. If anyone has recommendations please let me know.

That isn't nearly enough info for anyone to help. What does the rig currently have for a transmission? Which auto do you want to try and swap in? What is your budget? What kind of shape is your current rig in?

I’m going to assume it’s a manual and you’re looking to swap in an automatic? Blaine is right though, more information is needed.

Sorry about that. It currently has the NV3550. The Jeep is a 2003 with 84,000 miles. I have swapped in a HP30 and 8.8 with 4.88 gears as well as a Clayton 4in short arm kit. Jeep is in very good shape. I am not sure on what I would like to swap in. I am open to any option on a auto trans, just want something reliable as this is my daily. I don't necessarily have a budget. Willing to pay for quality but don't want to waste money on anything.

That is a fairly tough one. The obvious swap is the 42RLE which was the factory option but that won't be easy. You will need the underhood harness, TCM harness, and the dash harness to get the over drive off switch. Not really easy parts to find and identify as being correct.
Next option would be the AW-4 but right now there is no good way to swap one in and maintain the cruise control function. (we are currently working on a solution for that)
Last option would be the 32RH which would be the easiest but it is a 3 speed and since you have OD in your trans now, I don't believe you would like it.

If I were doing it, I would acquire a full salvage 03 with the 42RLE, use the parts to do the swap and then sell off the remainder to recover some costs.

Thanks so much for the quick, detailed response. I knew this wouldn't be something easy but figured it never hurts to look into. Sounds like it might be best to stick with the 5speed and just keep an eye out for a donor vehicle in case something was to come up.
