The Greatest Movie of All Time

If I was to pick a single "Greatest Movie of All Time", it would probably be Jurassic Park, as mentioned before, or Star Wars or Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark just because those are epic blockbuster movies that aren't just good, but are also very grand and epic.

However, if I was to just plug my favorite movie, I'd probably go with "O Brother, Where Art Thou":

One, or three of the best are foreign films with subtitles. The Millenium Series started as a Trilogy of books, then a Danish Movie Series, then a watered down Hollywood Movie, But read the books first.

The Danish Series redefines "horror movies"

I love horror as well, but twisted movies like Clockwork Orange. Great call on Prince of Darkness though, haven't seen that in like, wow, been that long.

I recently stumbled upon one called Oldboy, a Korean movie. If you have time you should read about or watch on this one. I read that Spike Lee remade this movie but I never have, and never will, watch that version. The original was just too good.

Good call on Clockwork Orange and Oldboy, both sick and twisted movies that I enjoyed! Much better than the typical slasher films that many identify with horror films. Still can't get my wife to enjoy these, LOL.

I watched that entire trilogy, good stuff, all of them...but I did like Oldboy (Korean version) much more. The twist at that end almost made me yack as the writer had me feeling as if I was in the movie.

Some like it hot. An oldie, but filmed back in the days before special effects so the writing had to be great. And the writing was great. Jack lemon and Tony Curtis. If you haven’t seen it, take the time to watch it.

Considering the vast genre of films it's hard to pick just on film so I have a top 10 in no particular order:

Giant
Forrest Gump
Gandi
Pappilion
The Great Escape
The Godfather Saga (6 hour version)
Tombstone (love Kurt Russell"s slit eyes)
The Shawshank Redemption
Saving Private Ryan
Follow Me Boys

I love the oldies to. I think Arsenic and Old Lace has got to be at or near the top of my list.

Actually, it was Marilyn Monroe, and a bunch of other people... ;)

*You'll have to forgive. I've always been a huge fan of the woman. Collected Marilyn memorabilia for a great number of years. And you're right. Great movie. I love the very last line of the movie:

I would imagine every boy born in the 1940’s had a thing for Ms. Monroe.

I think "Tombstone" would be mine.

I’m going with Forrest Gump.

These are my two favorite movies. It would be really tough to decided which one is better.

As of this moment I would choose to watch Tombstone again but tomorrow may be a forest gump day.

What movie could you watch over and over, and never be tired watching it? That would be the one movie. I may have changed my mind. "Hunt for Red October".

I can't believe that no one has mentioned "The Horribly Slow Murderer With The Extremely Inefficient Weapon". I've watched the trailer to it probably a dozen times. I've never watched the actual movie, as it has a run-time of over nine hours. You can find the trailer on Youtube. Just look up "Spoonkiller The Movie". No thanks necessary. ;)
