OK, another fishing expedition here.
Found a `13 JKR, unmolested, with less than 100k miles on it for under $20k.

Instead of making my SE into something it's not I was thinking of making a JKR into something it's not. Really getting the itch to go to Moab (wife's sold on that trip), Rubicon, Colorado, etc.

I was thinking 35's, Currie suspension, winch, gears, some armor, and go for it. What bits and pieces should I be looking at? Any ideas / advice would be helpful.

Oh, it's white, so there would be a red, a white and a blue Wrangler in the yard.

Don't hate, just noodling this out right now.

All I can say is that you clearly have deeper pockets than I do, that's for sure! :risas3:

You've gone through a few TJR's Chris, and this latest one is far from a cheap build.

I'm not hurting.

Still, I couldn't afford 3 Jeeps... even with the money I have into mine, a JKR is still around 20k minimum, not to mention the cost of mods. Then if I added a JKU... well, all I can say is you're crazier than I am, just not as outspoken ;)

Synergy 2.5" lift springs, Rancho 5KX shocks, Synergy DDB arms, relocate the evap canister so you don't rip the rear ds boot. a little under armor, and rock on. You could join us in May for Moab!

Crazy is a feature, not a bug...

Why Synergy over Currie?

And oh man, going to Texas to visit youngest daughter in May. By way of Moab. Thanks for the invite, I'll get in touch later on that.

Just sick of hearing Currie this, Currie that over here. Yeah, they make great shit, but knowing your style, you would like to try out of the box thinking stuff, and from what I've seen with the synergy joints, me likey. Springs are springs, so anything to get you the height you want is fine. Dual rate has sparked my curiosity, so there you go. I suppose you could go with the high dollar Fox shocks or OME's but why?

I hear ya' on that. I'll check them out.

Oh, am I going to hate myself if I get the manual? I suspect so...

Both the TJ and JK serve their purpose. I think you could build a nice JKR. If you can get one under 20k that’s really a can’t beat price. Being a 2013 you get the tried and true pentastar V6 also which is great. The creature comforts of the jk are very nice. Flares are the only downfall really on the jk, but can be easily overlooked. I say go for it. Does it come with 4.10s or 3.73? All the manuals came with 4.10s if that’s what it is. Any pics?
35s and factory 4.10s on a jk is perfect.

I know you're thinking 35s and more than likely you'll end up there. When I had my 2007 JKR, it ran with the OME setup, and at one time 33 x 12.50 Cooper STT, then 285/75-17 KM2s later on. That was one capable JKR, with the smallest lift I thought it needed for 33s, and even with the 4.10 gears, it did great. 6-speed NSG370, which I was no fan of, but it worked fine off road. Just clunky sounding. This was my JKR

I don't think you can go wrong with a 2013 JKR with less then 100,000 miles for under $20,000. I say "go for it"! Moab here you come! We'll meet you there.
