Pretty spiffy.

McBeeve...sounds like the love child of Mrs Cleaver and Ronald McDonald. And what's with the nipple on the spare tire cover??

@Starrs how much up travel is lost in doing that?
That's the question in have. Assuming that a larger tire fits just because it looks like it fits is sloppy thinking. Modifying a JL benefits from the very same procedures of cycling the suspension and extending the bump stops as the TJ does.

That I am not sure on. I’m sure it’s discussed somewhere on the forums but I haven’t looked into that.

It may be out there. But from what I've seen, the secret knowledge to find clearance issues on the JL is at least as unknown as it is in the JK world.

From the factory on any JLR your leaving the lot with 2” higher fenders than any stock jk. This is the same scenario as the AEV hiline kit. On the tj hiline kit you could run 35s with no lift. Fenders are raised 2”. LCOG is what they were aiming for. 4”-5” lifts are a thing of the past now it seems. If you find your answer please share because I’m curious also

Those are optimistic numbers. The TJ AEV kit is not able to run 35s without a lift if there is a desire to maintain stock suspension travels.

The answers, or at least the right directions to look towards, are easily found with a floor jack. Unfortunately, this type of precise disciplined thinking is not a significant part of the culture where bravado equals discomfort and breaking things.

If I were to build a JK or JL, one of the first things I would do is pull the coils and cycle the axles with a floor jack. That, all by itself, would cut through half of the crap misinformation surrounding these vehicles.
