They are Goodyear MT/R 285 x 70 R17. I really cannot say anything good or bad about the tires performance except to say that rocks tear the holy crapolla out of them. I don't know if it is normal, but the outer and inner edges of my tires are chipped pretty good. They do grip pretty well at or below 15 PSI, whereas at 17-18 PSI they slip a bit on the same obstacle(s).

Those Ravines look way better black than gold... nice job..
Give us a bit more.. tire size, lift... and a proper picture of the whole Jeep.

I am a big fan of 5 lug wheels with 5 spokes. Just looks right, balanced,

Well the tire size is 31x10.5R15 and I don't have any lift on the Jeep its the stock height. As for the picture of the whole jeep here you go...

Lovin' the orange/black look. I like that hood decal or whatever it is. Where did you get that?

Thanks Jeff, I bought the decal on Ebay from a seller called AlphaVinyl. It was a good price ($25), shipped quickly, great quality (didn't rip or anything when I put it on), and has been really durable (snow, mud, heat, etc.). It also came with everything I needed to apply it to the hood. Just make sure your hood is really clean! Here is the link to the exact one I bought.

A+ Seller!

I have been thinking about plasticoating a set of these white just to see what they would look like on a Solar yellow TJ/LJ, when I started Jeeping white spokes or chrome was all that was available back then. Anybody have any thoughts or pics of some in white?

Jason

I don't have any pics, but I think you'll regret white just because it will be sooooooo hard to keep clean.

They're a forged aluminum bead lock, Walker Evans knows what he's doing on stuff like that.

Oh my... I would love a forged aluminum wheel. All you seem to find for the TJ is steel, which is durable but heavy.

Any idea what those things weigh?

I never weighed mine but Gerald at Savvy weighed a set and said they were 31-32 lbs. which is significantly less than many bead lock wheels. I don't know if that weight included the bead lock ring and bolts but probably. I do know at my age it still seems heavy-ass to me with the tire mounted on it.

31-32 lbs. is really light for a beadlock wheel indeed, that's impressive!

Do they still manufacture these wheels or are they discontinued?

They still make them, though they dropped the 15x8 size I have. I guess because most running bead locks seem to be running larger size tires than my 35's where 17" wheels make more sense.

Got it! I'll have to check them out, though I doubt they make a 16".
