Hey guys. So i was changing my oil the other day. And was looking at all the possible real estate under the hood of my 06 X. Ive heard of people adding ammo cans for storage and onboard air compressors. And i got to wondering what all have you added under the hood? Also pics would be nice. Thanks.

@jjvw probably has the most jam-packed engine bay, though everything has a specific purpose.

As for me--I have the ARB compressor, Windstar intake, and a coolant reservoir tank as a washer fluid bottle.

There are 3 different ARB compressors.
One is very small and is ONLY used for lockers.

Another, the one I have, is for lockers and inflation. I use mine for both the lockers and to inflate tires. Some do not like to use this compressor for inflation, but it works well for me. Inflates my 33's from 15lbs to 30lbs in exactly 2 minute each. I timed it so I knew the exact about of time it took so I didn't need to keep checking while inflating.

A third compressor is huge and can be used for lockers, inflation and many other things.

I've got my ARB twin shoehorned under my vacuum booster.
I fear the day I have to pull it out.

Man howd you get that in there? I was just looking at them online and trying to figure out where'd it fit.

I started by removing bracket mount from the compressor and taking the abs tray out of the jeep. Then I drilled holes and bolted the two together before putting them back on the jeep. Without the mount on the compressor its just barley small enough to fit in there but with enough swearing you can do it. Once you squeeze it in there you can just bolt the compressor back onto the mount and you're golden. Some might say its not worth the trouble, but the space was there and I was determined.

So does the windstar intake mod actually do? And does wrapping the pipe with exhaust tape help keep the air charge from getting heat soaked?

Sounds like my line of thought. Lol.

All it does is make room for crap under the hood.

The tape decreases the intake temps an additional 5°F beyond what the Windstar normally does, but that doesn't result in anything in the real world.
