They really dropped the ball on Game of Thrones season 8

I watch rarely only due to the time I have invested. It's terrible and has no plotline anymore, it's really terrible.
Speaking of shark jumping, Walking Dead has done just that. It's not even remotely entertaining any longer, just drama for the sake of drama.

I was going to mention Dexter in my first post. Up through season 4 was really good. I've told people that asked about that show to stop there.
Exactly this... It's almost embarrassing to recommend a show when 3/5 of it is amazing but the end goes downhill, and not just regressing to merely being decent, but delving into subterranean suckiness.

Let's have a competition.

Everyone make a prediction on how it ends..

Closest prediction wins an angry bird grill. Or a metal cloak gift card.

What's that? Mr.Blaine said he will throw in a set of Black Magic Brakes!

I mostly enjoyed the books. Unfortunately I learned about half way through the first book that you can't get invested in the plot with any hope of there being good guys and bad guys and maybe the good guys will prevail. If the show ends with Cersei flying around on a dragon carrying Jon and Dany's heads on spikes while fucking the dwarf, it wouldn't be far fetched or out of any realm of how fucked up GRRM is or his control of the plot. It is entertainment, it is better than reruns of Friends or another bullshit episode of the Big Bang Theory. It isn't real, I don't expect it to be or for it to be accurate or make sense.

Being this is GRRM's work, I would fully expect this kind of ending to this, but I fear HBO will work in the happy Disney ending. Thats what was refreshing about his work 20 years ago, no one was safe and it was a lot darker than most of the fantasy books out there.

Since he has taken such a LONG hiatus several authors have taken up the mantle and produced far better works. Brandon Sanderson, Joe Abercrombie, Ed McDonald and Nicholas Eames are way more enjoyable to read now. Huge fan of James SA Corey's Expanse too, which has been called GoT in space. TV show there is much better if you've read the books.

I was going to bitch a bit about the company you seem to think I keep but instead, I'm going to Fritz you. A bit of back ground on what Fritz is. We had a buddy with the last name of Fritz that was the president of a high powered company. Any time a subordinate came to him with a problem and no solution, resolving the situation then became that person's problem to solve to everyone's satisfaction. So, I will be more than pleased to give away any product we sell that you pay for. We'll make sure you get full credit for supplying the prize.

:)

I have plot armor thicker than jon snow's as he runs bare foot north of the wall!

I fear no man's bitching!

On the other hand... it would of been well deserved, no idea why I thought you were associated with that company. Doh.

I was really banking on Arya sneaking over to Jamie during the battle of the North and killing him so that she could steal his face and go kill Cersi. They have done a decent job of letting her take care of her list. There is still time though.

If there isn’t a Hound/Mountain showdown I’ll be bummed too.

Keep in mind the Mountain is already dead too. Kyburn reanimated him (hence his fascination with the undead brought back to show off to Cersei, he snagged the hand that the Hound lopped off when he cut it in half before Jon stuck it with the dragon glass dagger).

They'll both be "dead" after they battle, but my money is on Arya pulling the Mountain's plug as he tries to finish the Hound.

Sanderson isn't too bad, but good God does he take 10 pages to explain a 2 page thought! Patrick Rothfuss is another great - the Kingkiller books are two of my all-time faves.

As for The Expanse... I've never liked the "GoT in space" title. LOVE the show, but it's nothing like GoT. The only remotely "GoT-like" part that The Expanse has is that people can and do die. Just like IRL. Frankly, it's far superior to GoT.

Yea, I agreed with the above 100%. I do feel like Rothfuss is starting to fall in the GRRM realm of never releasing another book though.

I have a few folks that I'm responsible for at work. When one of them bitches to me about something that may or may not have the ability to be fixed, I ask 2 questions - one, what is the solution; and second, what is your role in the implementation of the solution? Silence is the normal response to both questions.

Funny how that works. I was told many tales of folks being fritzed by both Mr. Fritz and his best friend at our weekly shoots at the gun club. They related that as time went by and folks learned that it was very possible they would wind up as the head of a committee to restructure employee parking or the organizer of some birthday party, the requests and demands for others to solve their perceived problem or situations really dropped off.

Not going to lie, last night was kind of crap. This show is frustrating, you mean to tell me Dany wiped out the Iron fleet, all the scorpions, the golden company, etc., without a scratch but couldn't do the same in Winterfell?
I was actually enjoying most of it until...the ease of how the took over KL. Whatever, I'm still going to watch the final episode.
