So I finally got my Jeep running and found a fuel leak at the tank. Thought it was the connector but after trying hard to stop the leak I found that it is the nipple on the pressure regulator.

Now I’m wondering if I should buy a 4.0l fuel pump or a 5.9 l fuel pump.

What a process working on a vehicle that someone else took apart

Stock 4.0 up to 2003 or 2004 puts out the correct pressure and plenty of volume for a 5.9. I run a stock one 4.0 pump in my 5.9 magnum 2003.

I think 2005 and 2006 put out higher pressure, not sure. People who run hemis use the 05 and 06 pump and regulator I believe.

Same here, stock pump is enough for either the 5.2 or 5.9 engine. I am going to be using a aftermarket pump in mine but it isn't needed. I'm doing it because of the stroker kit I am going to be running plus the intake I have.

Thanks for the replies. At first I just ordered a fuel pressure regulator but it was wrong. So I ordered a complete fuel pump. Hoping to pull the body off tonight to change it

Pretty crude but got it changed and no more leaks
