What did you do to your TJ today?

Had to take my TJ for its 6 monthly health and safety check up (legal requirement here)...it failed on ball joints and rear sway bar bushings...and my damn lights again!!!! So its off the road till I get her well again.

Ouch

Put on another old school AMC Jeep decal, this time on the windshield header trim. Love the vintage AMC logos, but had no interest in the "Racing Team" portion on this one, so I cut that out.

Slide out your visors and put them on the opposite side and the factory stickers will be on the windshield frame side .

Yours was the “ouch” I put in the wrong place. But it will make sitting in the driveway nicer with it.
I thought it was a secret fix that only American Jeep TJ owners know of haha

*on a side note I have stickers on both side of my visors...so I'm screwed which ever way I go :(

Quick question....are the rear sway bar bushings on the front the same as the ones on the back ? I think they are narrower ...looking for some Moog ones

Based on my part numbers they are different , I’m not sure if it’s size or density though .

I have some new ones I can check tomorrow.

Finally fixed my horn (Full post here: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/horn-switch-wiring.23697/#post-403161) and I also used some gutter screen material and epoxy with part of a coat hanger wire for support to fix part of my dash over the vent that had broken as the plastic became brittle.

Replaced my rear shocks on Sunday. Three of the four rear upper mounting holes were drilled out by the former owner or dealership, they installed the hardware with no washers which resulted in the nuts wallowing out the holes even more and the shocks were banging and rattling like crazy. Made coming up with a more stable mounting solution a 4 hour pain in my ass. I really want to come up with a new way to mount these shocks, they're fine for the street but the way they're mounted now would not give me much confidence off-road.

I made somewhat of a dream wishlist on Savvy's website. I think I could just about swing it if I sold my DRZ-400 that I never ride. Not 100% sure if I would need the SSSYE if I went down to 3" springs from 4 with the body lift to fit the TT (I want to stick to 33" tires for a while). That would save a good amount of money, I'd still likely need a driveshaft though. Pretty unlikely it would happen though, I have a hard time selling stuff.

You sound like me. Got a drz400 sm in basement I rode in there and it hasn't seen light of the sun in gong on 4 yrs now and an 09 custom R6 w/47 miles in with my buddies car collection for going on 6 yrs now have't touched. Been saying for probably 6yrs I'm gonna sell it cause I actually bought it for my late wife and she never got to ride it andI know I'll never ride it. Been Busa's only now for past few years. Even think to myself I got all this play money laying around getting worth less and less every month but it's always still there the following month.

Ordered some o2 sensors. Have had engine light on since I got it a few months back, Kept getting code for EVAP leak checked hose, fittings, changed gas cap everything I could think of when I got to it visually wise, No I know could found it easier with smoke machine. Making my own this week. Anyways when I took gas tank out to replace rusted out skid last week seen where the metal line was corroded up in there where it goes by shock over rear axle. Cut it out replaced with new piece brake line and vacuum hose.

Didn't even think about it till next day when took jeep to fill it back up with gas, got going down street and thought somethings not right. Looked, listened waited for something to happen always does. then I noticed BAM no engine light. Hell made me happy as a pig in shit. I grinned all thee way to station and back. Fast forward 3/4 days later, been driving it the whole time mind you still 🙂. Then wham bam holy shit there it is again. I get a longer break than that when I send the lady and kids to the beach for a week than I get from the girl in the driveway.

Got back threw the box on it and now it shows another evap leak and rear o2 sensor. So ordered a couple new ones and I;m gonna make mt own smoke machine before I crawl back up under there chasing this time. Too hot to do anything to it now anyhow,

Started working on my rear locked storage idea. Got these two tubs from Walmart. They fit perfectly, I will even still have access to the rear footwells for storage. I will build a box to surround these two tubs, that's why the plywood blocks are there, to ensure I have room. It will be open at the rear but if the tailgate is locked there will be no access without ripping it out. It will be fastened to the floor at the rear seat mount points with aluminum L brackets. These tubs are 5 7/8 deep, they had some that were 7 7/8 and I cant decide which ones to go with.

Well that is 2" your talking about !!! Opens up a whole new realm of things that will be able to be out in there.
Whatever you do I wouldn't suggest bringing up "is deeper better at dinner table" :ROFLMAO:

Personally I'd do the 8" ones. Better to have that extra in lockable space then up top in open air.

And remember if you build to the taller ones if they ever need replacing because a shackle oe snatch block got thrown in a cold one ans cracked it all up and now walmart only has they 5 7/8" ones. They WILL FIT in existing hole but not vice versa. ;)

Replaced the stubby rubber antenna with a long metal one cause on the highway today it was bop bop bop against the side and freaked me out thinking it was suspension cause it would stop when we slowed down
