400,000 people have joined a Facebook event pledging to raid Area 51

Is this even still a thing... the trend came and went

Supposedly it was "cancelled" but they are hosting an event in a nearby city with infrastructure, first aid, venue, etc...But I wouldnt be surprised if a small (not sure what that constitutes) crowd showed up at the gates anyway

I should have bought more hotdogs; this'll be worth watching.

I wonder about this with equal parts humor and horror.

Even if the use of deadly force was legally justifiable, can you imagine the larger ramifications of the military "neutralizing" an idiotic Facebook party?

It would be the straw that broke the camels back.

Thankfully the military contracts external security to some unknown company. The run around in unmarked vehicles.

They will be the ones killing people outside of the fence.

Once they are inside the fence they are no longer civilians. They are an invading force. They can/will be shot if they break the fence line.

...

That's terrifying. An idiotic Facebook party killed by a government contracted security company.

Maybe you can be the military's PR guy once the smoke clears. I'm sure the rest of the population will understand the rules and chalk it up to the consequences of disobedience. :)

"IF" someone was to be killed. It will be the most epic news cycle ever.

This will make tv unwatchable.

Without getting into politics. Fox will show how dumb people are.

Everyone else will blame trump.

Then they will make a mini TV series of the event.
