Savvy Off Road is a joke

Customer services has always been their weakness. Shipping costs, back orders, unanswered phone calls, etc..But on the engineering side of things they sure do know what they are doing. I ordered my UAS from them back in 2016. Placed my order in early February, had a tracking number by wednesday, recieved a call on a thursday saying the cross member would ship the following week, and by early next week I received another tracking number. By mid-Feb I had everything I needed. They are top notch items, and I would throw it out there that the wait time and/or cost is definitely worth it.
Savvy is a high-end designer of enthusiast-level components for a small marketplace. They're not in the business of selling high volumes of stuff geared toward the masses. Their market is the educated and serious enthusiast who doesn't mind having to wait a little longer for the product, doesn't mind not having gimmicky daily discount specials like 4Wheel Parts and similar for-the-masses type retailers push, and who understands Savvy is a very small company without a room full of quota-driven barely competent sales people on the phones taking hundreds of calls per hour.

Savvy is not the right vendor for those who need immediate gratification and are only happy when they are getting some token discount like is a required way of doing business for companies more in tune with selling to the masses. Daily sales are not sales at all, they're a gimmick designed to make people think they're getting a discount. When there are constant discounts available, is it still truly a discount? Or just the usual price made to look like it's discounted. Like car dealerships.

Jerry let me preface by saying I respect the hell out of you but I think the heart of the issue that the OP was getting at was his frustration at the indifference that Savvy had towards him when he presented an issue. It’s not about the $10 he was missing out on or even the wait times people experience that are the issue. Peoples frustration are more directed at Savvys interaction with the customer and simply their (seemingly) lack of caring. Sure they make amazing products and I will continue to buy them because I want the best for my Jeep. But, I also think it doesn’t seem right to just write off the customer service just because they make good stuff. That would be like dismissing an athletes unsportsmanlike conduct just because they are a really talented player. Doesn’t make sense to me. Again just my thoughts on it.

I agree with Starkey480 on this. As a small business owner myself, you have to be Jonny on the spot with all aspects of your company... marketing, advertising, website development, inventory, supply, etc...You can't just throw customer service to the curb because your...

" market is the educated and serious enthusiasts who don't mind having to wait a little longer for their product, don't mind not having gimmicky daily discount specials like 4Wheel Parts and similar for-the-masses type retailers"

There are a million excuses why they charge what they do and how they interact (or don't) with their customers, but they are all just excuses. I'll still use savvy, but they could and should do better.

WOW, you totally missed my point! I don't care what kind of business your running when a customer points out that your system is changing the shipping cost after a quote has been given and they don't care...that's just shady. If you would have actually read my post you would realize that money wasn't the real issue. I'm always looking to stretch my budget for frivolous items but principle is more important to me than anything. If you are willing to put up with crap from Savvy because you think their parts are so good than that's fine. What do I know, I'm not a serious, educated off roader, I'm just a guy with the need for quick gratification. LOL

Just to put things into perspective, I have logged 1000's of off road miles in the Kentucky Mounains, Tennessee Mountains, West Virginia mountains and the hills of Indiana with my Polaris RZR. I ask advice about jeeps because I've been away from them for quite some time. I have a very good understanding of custom fabricated parts as my RZR is highly modified (built by me) and is worth twice my Jeep Rubicon. For a short time I was a sponsored driver until it began to conflict with my job. I'm by no means saying I know everything there is about off roading (not close) but there are very few on this site that have logged the amount of off roading miles I have.

I have read many of your posts regarding the Jeep TJ and would consider you to be one of the leading people on the subject. However never assume to know everything about someone. I don't plan to use my Jeep as a serious off road machine because if I drove it as I drive my RZR it would be beat to hell! LOL

They may run a lean staff and just don’t have the resources (time , people ) to deal with things like this .

They may be as frustrated as you , but busting their butt to get it all done every day.

I have two SAVVY components on my rig, the body lift and the TC shifter cable. Both wonderful.

Other parts that I tried to order, I didn't. As I only had the rig for 6 months, I wasn't an "educated and serious enthusiast"
How does one become EDUCATED?

It became apparent SAVVY by not responding to questions that they already had a willing pool of buyers for their products and couldn't bother to move this newbie into that secret club of "educated and serious"

Work hard for the money and try to spend wisely. I moved on.

Fortunately there are many suppliers out there who are willing to answer a question or two prior to purchase.

Funny how that is. Another example where it comes into play is the GR body mount kit where the goal is to remove most of the very same body lift pucks you paid good money for.
The good news is you can buy a 1.25" BL and have enough parts to work with 2 GR jobs. Or, wind up like we do and save the lift pucks from one to do the next one. After about 6 jobs it works out evenly and stops bugging me.

*****I want to give 4 Low Parts a huge thumbs up and also thank Chris for giving me Garza's contact info!*****

I said I wouldn't put Savvy parts on my Jeep but they seem to have the very best body lift and 4 Low Parts treated me very fair so I have to eat my words. LOL I will have a Savvy body lift on my Jeep. However, I have zero desire to do any business with Savvy. There are other companies out their with quality parts that will fit my needs.

Ricky is a good guy. When Currie had no interest in helping with my custom axles, and RwkHous didn't know what they were doing, Ricky at 4LowParts helped me get my order together.

At least now when you want to focus your decisions purely on the functional aspects of the parts, you now know how to get the customer service you want. ;)

Sometimes I feel like certain justifications in these types of threads come across as condescending and exclusionary. This does nothing good for anyone, especially the new guy trying learn, understand and experience what a difference good design makes.
