Hello everyone! Just bought my wife her second TJ; an '01 Sahara with a hard top. It's pretty much stock aside from a 2" budget boost the previous owner just installed in May and an aftermarket radio. Outside of that, it was bone stock with the interior in pristine condition and never having been wheeled. It's a 5speed with the Dana 44 rear end.

Looking to put the RE 3.5" Super Flex suspension on it with 33" M/Ts. Also going to swap out the hard top for a new Soft top, add some lights and tube doors, front and rear bumpers, and upgrade the audio system for those nice top-down beach cruises. This will be her third Jeep so I'm pretty familiar with them, I just need to refresh my memory on a bunch of TJ specific details. Just wanted to say hello to y'all!

Welcome to the forum! Great looking TJ you got your wife.

What happened to her first TJ?

Sweet, I also just joined today! I bought a 1999 Sahara a month ago, got her cosmetically looking good took soft top completely off ( Florida ) now trying to figure out how much lift, tires and wheels to ad. I notice you have later model year take off wheels which is kinda the direction I am thinking with a 2 inch budget boost. What size are those tires may I ask?

Her first TJ was a 2003 and we owned it for about 5 years before trading it for a soccer mom ride .

Then she owned a 2012 JK Rubicon, that she traded in on a small convertible  .And she missed it ever since.

She doesn't plan on wheeling this new TJ much, however. She just wants a nice beach cruiser with capability, if needed when hurricanes threaten us.

The wheels are 17" Rubicon wheels off of a 2018 model and the tires are 255/75's.
We're going to put the Rubicon Express Super-flex 3.5" kit on it soon. The tires and wheels in the photo are already sold! :ROFLMAO: She didn't like them and the 5x5 bolt pattern required wheel spacers/adapters to run them. She ordered new wheels already but we're holding out for the tires for Discount Tire Direct's $100 off $400 promotion they do every year in November. We're going with 305/70 STT Pros on 16" Raceline Shift wheels.

Welcome back. I'm in a similar position. I've had a number of Jeeps, but haven't had a TJ since I lost my 2003 in The Great Divorce of 2005. Just got back into the TJ world with a 2005 LJ and the folks on this forum have been a wealth of knowledge. Unlike other forums I've seen, there haven't been any "choads" making demeaning comments for asking a question that may be common knowledge to everyone except you.

After coming to terms that my JKUR had no Jeep Soul, it feels great to be back in an inline 6. I'm sure you are not going to regret coming back to the AMC life.

-Cheers.

Sounds like a win win to me and I agree before this TJ I had a 2009 Hummer H3t with many issues and on that forum you asked a question and always got snide remarks about how that has been discussed before 10 years ago not a good look to newbies needing answers but a Hummer is definitely NOT A JEEP
