Car wash damaged my Jeep

I had a similar thing happen. Car wash almost tore the driver side mirror right off my truck. Fortunately, only the mirror itself was damaged. This was a gas station car wash so not their primary business.

I immediately went inside and told them. They did what you describe, took pictures and reported it to their insurance company. I got a quote for the repair and they sent me a check (eventually). But there was no drama or anything. It just took a while.

I replaced the mirror myself and pocketed the difference.
 
Well fellas (and ladies),

I'm happy to report they took care of it.

I have my pair of brand-new LED tail lights and a replacement mirror.

I think the key is that I wasn't unreasonable I didn't go in there stopping up and down angry and threatening I explain to him what happened. And I was reasonable in my request to have it fixed I said I would install the lights myself I couldn't buy just one led to match. And I didn't need a factory original mirror I would be happy with an aftermarket.

I brought in the parts sheets and prices from the local AutoZone they ran down there with their credit card and ordered everything it came in and they gave me a call. I have since ordered the tail light protector cages to put on to hopefully prevent any future problems.

I guess the moral of the story is don't ever assume ahead of time you won't get any help, go in there talk to him like you would want to be and see how far you get.

I'm still baffled by the refusal just to give me six months of free pass for the jeep. They wouldnt have cost them anything and I would have came out even. But they said they just rather pay for it.

According to their advertising, the gas bar I frequent most seems to like Jeeps. I went through their car wash once in my MJ. I went about a km down the road and my block heater fell out. I don't think the cord caught on anything. It may have been that the pressure loosened it a bit. In reality it was likely going to fall out on its own so they probably did me a favour! Regardless, I haven't gone through it since.
