So finally took my Front locker (I had in the rear ) apart. Looks like front 15 years of abuse this is what happens. Looks like stress cracks on all the gear teeth.

Hoping maybe some has a broken locker with some spider gears laying around. Would like to fix this one to hopefully sell it to a fellow wheeler. I will be putting a Eaton in.

Lemme know if you have any spiders that may work thanks!

Go onto www.jeep forum.com (remove that space between Jeep and forum) and send a "private message" to a member known as mudb8 whose name is Dave. He hoards Rubicon lockers & locker parts. I have bought a few things from him over the years but don't get too bummed if he doesn't reply, that just means he doesn't have what you need. He's a good source of such parts.

Thanks Jerry! David and I have been speaking for a bit about outboarding my rear shocks next year. He just sent me some shock shifters last week.

He said most of the spiders he has are stress cracked as well.

Oh bummer, I was hoping for an easy fix for you. I'm happy that you're already hooked up with Dave, he's a good guy.

Thanks Jerry.

Appreciate the tip. I was hoping for an easy fix too. A couple good buddies of mine have done work with David. Really great guy

I can be patient as I am putting in an Eaton at a screaming deal from an editor for 4byTech mag. Just have to document the install for the killer deal

Are the Spider and Side gears in a Rubicon different than an open Dana 44? I found on the Yukon side and then every site that lists Yukon parts has the open diff parts as effective for the 03-06 Rubicon. I am about to open up my rear on my 04 Rubicon due to clunking/skipping when turning and was doing some pre-research on parts that may be needed when I found this post.
Morris site showing spiders as effective for Rubicon

If they are different, are they not available?

I can't confirm if they are the same. For me in canada those NEW spiders would cost me almost $400. I would rather just buy a new locker at that point.

If you have a rear Rubicon locker in the rear still, it is most likely the limited slip that blew (which I did last year). Same symptoms on turns only really.

The rubicon rear does not use spiders and side gears.

Damn, seriously?

I figured in that stock pile he had that he had to have some good ones.

Have you checked eBay or http://car-part.com
I have not checked ebay. I figure most people want $200-300 usd for these parts. In CAD they are even more. I would love to fix this to sell it, but I don't really want to fork out to much $$ to do so. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Gonna throw in an Eaton at a screaming deal and hope to hell it doesn't break on me again...

If I can't find parts for my stock rubicon rear locker, I may be buying aftermarket as well. Where did you get the Eaton at the screaming deal? Any reason (other than the deal) that you chose the electric over air (ARB)?

to be honest I was looking a the cheapest option to get back on the road....Then my buddy (editor of 4byTech mag) messaged asking if I wanted an Eaton. After seeing what people want for Rubi lockers, I took the deal lol. Should be in by next week.

I considered putting in an ARB 33 spline but I figured I want to ge rid of this rear axle soon anyways. I really need a Dana 60 back there with my LS now.
