There, trimmed down some.

Ooh, I want to see those when they're done. Building your own huh? Brave man!

Man, I guess this is what happens when you have all the tools in your garage!

OK, so I might be slightly impatient. I have one front fender about 95% done.

I tell ya, welding sheet metal to tube isn't all that fun, lol. Of course, if I knew what I was doing, it might be easier!

Looking good. Are using tack welds on the underside and plug welds on the top side? I don't see a lot of grinding (any?) on the top side so I'm thinking the former. I see the tacks on the underside just curious if you're doing the top too.

Thanks!

Just tack welds on the bottom. I honestly hadn't thought of plug welds on the top, but I'm not sure if it'll need it.

The second front fender is welded up. I screwed up when I first started tacking the skin on, and had to cut it off. Luckily I only had about 5 tacks done. I forgot to put the brace in place, which helps set where the skin needs to go. I was off about an 1/8", which I could have worked with, but figured it was better to start over and do it right.

Their plasma cutter must have shifted somehow when this cut was made, and I didn't notice it until I got to that spot to weld.

Here they are together. I'm not sure if I'll have time to get this one prepped and primed before we leave on Friday or not.

Those look great! Can't wait to see them on the Jeep!
Thanks Chris, and that makes two of us!! :)

I need to figure out my lighting situation too. I'm thinking about getting some JK front turn signals, since I believe they are three wire lights. I need something for the side marker lights too, but since they're only two wire, it'll be much easier to find something.

OK, so I have a buddy giving me two JK turn signals, and my 3 1/8" hole saw will be here tomorrow. Both front fenders are painted and ready to go on. Both rears are built, I just need to do some clean up with the flap wheel, then sand, prime and paint.
