So I took the doors off the Rubicon for a little trip to HD and got to thinking... This could be problematic when I wear my kilt. Any other kilt wearing jeepers? off

Picture is from work, we have kilt Fridays during the summer months.

A trip to Harley Davidson?

I can't say I've ever seen Harley riders wearing kilts. Assless chaps though, for sure.

Oh... you mean Home Depot ;)

Wear longer skirts, preferably out of heavy denim or similar. If they're full enough, you can wrap them around your legs and they won't fly around too much. And no, I'm not joking, voice of considerable skirt wearing experience here, although I have yet to wear one with my Jeep doors off so my advice is subject to change. Most of my skirts are at least mid-calf length.

But there are rules for wearing a kilt. It should be just at or above the knee. No higher, no lower. Check out this song...CAUTION: STRONG LANGUAGE.

Oh, I know. Tradition and all that. I sometimes wear the Greek Foustanella which has its own set of rules, and a long one is knee length and they're made of light fabric! You have to be especially careful not to get "Marilyn Monroed" in one. The only saving grace is that they're on the full side and Greeks actually wear something underneath!

just be careful when you put your foot out the door to get some extra air, tuck the kilt in or be prepared to show off.
True enough. Here's an excerpt from my "Skirtsmanship" article (Mostly geared towards Belly Dancers and our bigger skirts so inapplicable here, but this bit may be germane.):

Automobiles

Getting in and out of a car isn't difficult once you have the knack of it, but does require advance planning and technique. Never step into a car. Sit down first, then swivel your legs in. Lastly, pull your skirt(s) in and out of the way of the door. Watch out for water filled gutters and other ickinesses! Getting out is the reverse. Open the door, swivel your legs out, then stand up. This doesn't just apply to big Belly Dance skirts - if you wear Utilikilts or other "ordinary" skirts in your daily life, the above technique still applies!

Spent some time, a few years ago, at a remote upmarket hotel in the Highlands of Scotland.
The staff were all Scots and very Scottish.
The only person wearing a Kilt during our stay (including the staff) was a, rather self conscious, Swiss national.
Go, as you Americans say, figure

That's just Too Much Information.
I'm Scottish, but I have no dresses.
