I feel like the only person who doesn't like to take the doors off or put the top down on the Jeep. My favorite way is half doors with the uppers off, all windows removed, and top corners tucked in above the roll bar.
I like my solid shade and keeping dirt/mud from getting slung all over me.

I have the alien sun shade but the last few days I have the top up and all windows out. I keep the soft doors on which helps keeps the heat from off the road out. At work I have seen the tarmac reach 140 degs. Pop up rain showers and isolated storms come and go so keeping the top up is necessary.

John Adams never wrote for television and the Chuck Rhodes character in Billions definitely knew. The proper usage of "champing" was the theme of at least two scenes.
Interesting, I’ve never watched the show. Paul Giamatti was great as John Adams though.
Shaved legs are over rated. Yea, I've done it once or twice for a show, but its not my favorite.
That's a good point as well... I had a lot of CJ's... Snap-on tops... Wet...loud... Doors that weren't anything but a frame of 5/16 rods or something with vinyl covering... Both the YJ and the TJ tops are significantly improved.... Back in the day I wanted air conditioning at times and I knew it would be worthless.
I live in the caribbean, rarely take the doors/top off due to the scorching heat and heavy traffic. On long trips at night I do flip the front part of the soft top, remove rear window and lower the fronts.

Here in Western PA the weather is variable enough that I'm constantly putting the doors and top back on. Great workout. I keep them off as much as I can though. If the weather is alternating between hot/cold dry/wet a lot in a given week (which happens a lot especially in spring and fall) I will keep the doors on and just keep putting the top up/down as needed.
You could always buy a RZR if you like no AC and eating dust... I like the idea that I can roll up the windows and turn on the AC, that is why I have a jeep. At 90 degrees plus, doors off is like an oven baking you.Call this a rant, an observation or what have you. My boy and I on a little camping adventure close to home, more camping than wheeling, so the wife can come in the evenings after work. We’re at a junction on the FS road system so we see a lot of traffic going by. Dang near every Jeep we’ve seen the last two days has been doors on, windows up. Not just newer Jeeps, either. Weather has been hot, until mild today. Now, I’m not against AC by any means. Hell, I might even use it a time or two if I had it. Honestly though, I miss no doors and open windows come winter and look forward to spring and mild days. Why the heck though, would you drive around on awesome, easy trails in gorgeous mountains and forests AND NOT ENJOY THE DAMN OUTDOORS? Sure, there’s a little dust. So what? It’s a Jeep. Get the air hose and vacuum and blow’er out after.
Probably the same people that don’t wave.
Where I live it is over 90* every day from late May to October, frequently over 100* for weeks at a time, and for one or two long weeks every year it hovers around 113-115*.
My brain is addled enough without cooking it in the shell in the hot sun as I drive down the road.
If I didn't already have a hardtop I think I would want this, which I have lusted after since I first saw it. I think it is the best of many worlds for a soft top. [Extreme hardcore rockcrawling is admittedly not one of those worlds.] It is not dissimilar in concept to the Whitco tops of the 1960's.

So down here in Texas I run doors and top on 90 % of the time (my Jeeps a daily) though I will roll down the windows when I can. My theory is as follows
A: I spent a week fixing the A/C I’m going to enjoy it Dammit
B: if I want to have fun in the sun I have a dune buggy (see photo) so while I’m no apposed to the idea of a open vehicle, the TJ for me just isint it.

I was on the wait list for one of those, but by the time they finally got their supply chain figured out I had talked myself out of it due to the $3,000 price tag..... but I still think it is the best looking soft top out there
