Looks to be about a 1" gap between the rubber snubbed and the tire when its closed. Is there a source for longer ones?Do you have the snubbers set up to contact the carrier while it is closed?

Great idea, thanksget some hockey pucks to stack between existing snubber and the gate, drill a hole in them, get longer bolts....
Likely metric on that part of the Jeep.so I got the new bump stops and I'm ready to cut them down to add to the existing ones but for the life of me I can't find a socket that fits to remove the stock ones. Does anyone know what size the factory bolts are?

It's a Smittybilt. Looks great on the rack at the local 4x4 store, nice looking powder coating, but it's still a cheap product.Find out why your latch is rattling.
Turns out to take a 1/2" socket. A very tight fit for the socket.
Going to try making bump stops that the tire carrier can rest against when it's latched. We'll see if it makes a difference.
