What did you do to your TJ today?

And it went on amazingly quick! I found it was easier/better if I literally just dusted the SEM "Trim Black" on. Not even a "thin coat", just a dusting. Then it was already dry by the time I'd start the next pass.

After working with the SEM Color Coat products on my dash cap and door panel I put them among the best coatings I've every used. The process to use them and the results are incredible.

Please let us know how it works out. I’m about a month away from slapping a new (to me) hardtop on and it sounds like we have a very similar setup. I’m curious to hear how it plays out for you.
Great so far. Much quieter, you can actually hear the radio at highway speeds. I sure wouldn't want to have one without AC around here, though.

One weird thing I ran across was the spacing for the bolts. IIRC the top was from an 03, and my jeep is a 97. The front 4 bolts lined up perfectly, but the rear holes on each side are off by an inch or two. Not a huge deal, I'll just drill new holes in either the top or the Jeep. But for now it's holding solidly with just 4 bolts.

I still need to adapt the wiring for the rear wiper/washer since the plugs don't match and add in a new reservoir for the rear washer. Also, the top came with rear defrost but my Jeep isn't wired for that, so I need to figure out if it's feasible to add in.

I miss the open air feel of going topless, so I'll probably pull it off at the beginning of next summer. But for my needs at this time I have no regrets.

Wax on wax off... and took this photo:)

Did my own body work for the first time ever. I’ll eventually get the whole tub repainted, but I found some rust holes after taking my fender flares off. I had the first one I found welded with a patch, but even though it was going to be covered by the new flares, but then I found another one and decided to go the Bondo route instead. I also had some spots where the paint was bubbling. I cleaned them up as best I could to expose the god metal and grind away the rust, and then I patched them with Bondo. It was.... messy lol. But the job got done. I then primed and painted the areas, and added clear coat. I still have to wet sand and polish, and I have a few areas where I was a bit heavy handed with the clear coat, but I don’t think it was too shabby for my first time doing it! Hopefully I can finish up today before work, and then wax it, add on the rocker guards and flares, and a set of matte black American flags that I have been waiting to put on for a while now.

If I had known putting on new fender flares was going to lead to all of this I would have just kept the damn things and painted them with SEM 😂😂

Replaced the headlights with Delta Xenon units. There's a million things I want to do (new owner) as I am sure everyone can relate to, but I've been trying to go "Safety first" so the headlight upgrade was high on the list. It already was lifted when I got it though, so the heaviest lift in terms of upgrades was already done (yes, I am punning in my first post. Sorry not sorry.) 🙃🙃

I had to jump start the stupid thing after it's stupid owner pulled the stupid key out without turning the stupid lock to the stupid off position. Apparently running the stupid fan all day at work on the low setting eventually drains the stupid battery down. On top of it all the stupid owner took his stupid jumper cables out of the stupid back because he was afraid someone would take them when his stupid top was down so finally the 4th person in the parking lot he asked had some. A whole lot of stupid going on.

I had a new key made when I first got the Jeep and it was sharp enough that it wouldn't come out, but it's apparently wearing in. I bought a new tumbler yesterday that should be here on Friday. I'll have to manually set it up for my existing key and it should make it impossible to pull the key out of the ignition in the wrong position again until it wears out. Hopefully that's another 15 years down the road.

Virginia requires annual safety inspections and it's always a gamble here with a modified vehicle. My last sticker expired 6/19, so I was long overdue and took it in. I feel like I won a small lottery prize, because it passed!

Driving it daily. Knock on wood lol.
Got these little things today. Will try them out with the updated headlight loom in the H4 KC housings and compare them to the JW Speaker units and the osram H4 bulbs just because I can’t leave well enough alone.

LED H4 3200k temp and supposedly 10k lumen

Good luck with those lights.
If you have a ham radio in your Jeep you may receive ALOT of stray RF coming from those lights due to poor circuit filtering.
The radio in my Jeep received more than 9S units of noise and I tried groung the light housings, an in-line capacitor, RF chokes and wrapping shielding around the lights; with no results. I contacted the vendor and explained. He said that similar complaints had been received from other customers; I received a full refund.

Hope you have better luck than I

No Ham radio in the jeep, but I do have a Midland 75822 handheld and a BaoFeng UV-5R Dual Band Two Way Radio for emergencies. Did not think about the RF interference, but will see. Was your setup done with a body mounted antenna or antenna mounted on the radio as mine are? I have a few ground straps to add to the motor and chassis and not a while ago re-added the ground strap from the body to the hood.

Fingers crossed
