So bad on me for thinking that the safe neighborhood with a benign police blotter where I live was an excuse to not clean my TJ out after a trip last week. I just noticed today that my FireStik antenna was gone as I was bringing the trash back in. I looked a little closer & realized that my cheap ($70) chinese emergency toolkit, lithium jump box, & portable compressor are gone as well. I looked through my security cam & saw that my TJ left the driveway Monday morning with the FireStik installed & returned home several hours later with it missing. She ran some errands, went to her friend's house around the corner. Who knows. This shit pisses me off so much, even though we're taking about a few hundred bucks worth of shit I think thieves should have their hands lopped off in public.

Moral of the story - if you're running with no top or doors make sure you don't have anything in the TJ that you care about losing. I hope whoever got it gets cancer.

Kids in the suburbs used to go through mine all the time. Sorry you had to learn the hard way. Be really careful the next few weeks, they'll be back. Good reminder for all of us by the way, thanks for posting it.

Its just so infuriating that some people think they can take whatever they want. It is getting worse daily in this country. File a report. I did when my Stihl edger was stolen out of my garage. They found the couple that did it.

Problem is I don't know where they were taken, but it wasn't at my house. My cameras show my wife leaving with the Firestik at 10am & returning at 3:45 with it missing. Could have been taken anywhere across town. Bad on me for getting lulled into a false sense of security. Thefts are incredibly rare in my neighborhood & I park on a military installation every day for work where everyone has a security clearance & leaves their doors unlocked.

I would guess it was young adults or kids with license who off road too. Maybe its just a regular thieves too. The ordinary thieves only want money I would check craigslist , offer up and see if your parts come up for sale. I've seen people get back there stuff that way. My home insurance covers all my items not bolted to my Jeep. So maybe your policy will cover it too?

If you didn't engrave the stuff it's gone for good. CA only returns items with a drivers license number, I don't know how other states work.

It's not even worth filing a claim. Honestly it was a Firestik antenna, a Chinese knock-off toolkit, a Chinese knock-off Viair compressor that sucked, & a lithium jump pack. If all that shit fell off the back of my trailer on the highway I'd be mildly annoyed, but the fact that some lowlife helped himself to it in a parking lot instead is absolutely infuriating. At least I was smart enough to put away the portable toolbox that I fill with Snap-On sockets & wrenches when I go on trips. Hopefully the thief will get hit by a dump truck at some point.

Are you sure that it's not your wife?
Maybe she's hawking things to buy your Christmas gift.
Hahaha yeah. She'd totally know where to fence a CB antenna.

On a positive note, she's been giving me shit about wanting a proper Viair that can fill tires after wheeling. On this last trip we hit the dunes and afterwards she partook in the 45 minute wait to fill the 33's from 8 PSI up to 26 PSI so we could get back on the highway. She was annoyed to say the least, and now that the piece of shit inflator is gone I'm hopping on Amazon tonight to get a proper Viair 400p.

45 minutes is a long time. I have the Viair 88 and recently did a test with my new 35's. I fill two tires at the same time with an inflation set up. Went from 12-26 in 5 minutes filling two tires.

Yeah that compressor was a real piece of shit. Hopefully the thief tries to use it and it frags out in his face.

Lived for seven years in the Southside of San Antonio which is, as far as I can tell, the theft capital of Texas. I had probably a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff stolen while I lived there and it made me so effing mad...and so jaded against people. I would not live in that city again unless I made enough to live in a gated community with armed guards and itchy trigger fingers.

To the thief:

Fuckers!
I hate that shit.
I told my kid when he got his TJ "never lock your doors, don't leave anything in it you can't do without, It might save your top".
Didn't work for me when I lived in the shithole we call our nations capital...son of a bitch ripped off a twelve pack in a brown bag, the kicker is the dumbass cut the rear window less than two inches from zipper!

I went out today & grabbed a 400p compressor as well as a new 4' Firestik. My daughter is happy because I got a red one that matches the grab handles & shackles, so there's that. Plus I'll be able to get the tires aired up before the sun goes down now.
