Hi all, I asked this this morning, but I think that the thread was wiped out. Is there a way to adjust the angle of the windshield, mine seems to be sitting a bit too far back at the top. My doors fit just fine, but at the top front corner of the doors the windshield is touching them when they are closed. Here are pictures. Not sure if it has anything to do with the windshield fold down hinges or anything like that. I’m fairly new to the jeep and wanted to get some opinions before I pulled the hard top off and start fiddling around with things. Ideally, there’s an easier adjustment that can be made. Thank you all ahead of time, I found these forms to be very useful.

There is a way to adjust, I found it here somewhere and it gives the measurements front to back. I did it and it worked out fine. I know you need to loosen the spreader bars and the hinge locking bolt. But I don't remember the measurements.
And I'm still trying to get my doors right. That one I'm having issues with :(

I replied to this earlier right before the thread got knocked out lol.

Yes you can. You’ll need to remove the hard top though. Check the spreader bars between the roll cage and the windshield. If you pull the fabric back on the spreader away from the roll cage, you’ll see a bolt on each one. Loosen those bolts and adjust the windshield to the right angle, then tighten them back down.

Did you just recently install the hardtop? If so the hard top might be sitting back just a little to far pulling on the windshield. Might try loosening the hard top bolts along the sides and push it forward just ever so slightly until the gaps line up. My CJ7 hard top does the same. I have to adjust it slightly each time I put it on.

What does the gap at the lower edges of the door look like? Seems to me that it could be a door alignment issue, not the winshield.

I did have the hardtop off a couple of weeks ago. I’m going to pop it off, and check the spreader bars. I think thats it, i‘ll let you know. I’m pretty sure its not the doors. This is a jeep that has never been off pavement until I bought it a few months ago, and the door alignment is perfect everywhere except the top front against the windshield. The jeep has never been out of Nevada/arizona, so no rust/frame issues either.

Thanks Jamison C!

looks like that did the trick. I’ll put the top back on tomorrow and take some after pics. I saw that you’re in Sedona. We just drove Schnebly road Saturday.

cheers,
Jim

Looks like you guys have a lot in common....nice green Sahara’s.

I got it from a college student in Tempe. Pretty good condition except for a little Sun damage on the fenders and hood. I replaced the fenders, had the hood and Cowll repainted, did a 3 inch lift, put 33‘s and some rock sliders, an adjustable track bar, a rough country rear bumper and tire carrier, and outfitted the interior with Molle panels and pouches to keep all of my gear secure. So far I’ve taken it on several trips to northern Arizona, And southeastern Colorado where I did a whole bunch of really high passes. The jeep has 124,000 miles on it, and had never left Arizona and Nevada. So completely rust free. It is a real joy to work on compared to some old cars I’ve dealt with.

I think I remember seeing this a few months back. Nice find! I’m actually in Durango right now, wish I had my jeep with me :( So many mining roads to explore. We’re going to be in Telluride tomorrow and I’m dying knowing I’m going to be so close to Black Bear Pass

I was just up there three weeks ago! My wife and I went on a vacation back in June and drove the San Juan skyway. I thought “wow this would be really great with a jeep“, so I came home and bought a jeep did the mods on it I thought I would need and then went back out there. I did Imogene pass, cinnamon pas, engineer pass, Ophir pass, and a few others. Pretty amazing! The only real problem that I had was that it snowed the first few days I was there, so some of the passes were very treacherous in snow and ice. Engineer pass and imogene pass in particular

Man you are in one of my favorite places on earth. Gorgeous out there on the western slope. Telluride is great, see bridal veil falls way in the back.

Coming off Black Bear into Telluride on a dirt bike is something I'm really glad I got to do.

Nice one. Good job.

Nothing that would interest Jeep guys... ’68 Firebird convertible, ‘69 Firebird Convertible, a special ‘92 Trans Am Convertible, and a Porsche Cayman and Cayenne. Also got a Toyota Tacoma and a GTRV Westy in there. Lucked out with this house, I can put 10 cars in the garages!!!
