Jeep dogs

We have a new Jeep Dog!!! No name yet. But im hoping for "Danny". As that was my fathers name. And he had two different colored eyes too.

Hes a Border Collie. One of the smartest dogs in the world. Cant wait to start training. Were already working on eye contact and come. And sit. He's only 8 wks old.

Ill try to post a video.

He's going to be amazing. You can tell by the clever look in his eyes. (I'm kind of partial to border collies.)

This thread just makes me smile . . . . . and as dog owners, we know that when our time comes, that we'll be able to play and love our pets that left before us.

My dog passed yesterday ,only 10 years old. Suspect heart failure. It will take a while to get over it.
I had to put two dogs down about 2 years ago. At the same time. One was old age. Just on deaths door. No teeth left. I had been feeding her wet cat food for 3 months by hand. As that was all she could handle. She lived under my desk. A pitifully small 5lb yorkie. But she was 14 yrs old.

Then my french bulldog started swelling up. And i quickly learned he had cancer throughout his abdomen. He was about 11.

It was a sad day.

I now have a GSD and this Border Collie. Which are both ten times smarter than any dogs i have ever owned. Just full of personality. And a will to please and succeed. That is nonplussed. When they go im going to be even more devastated.

But what would life had been like without them? Pretty boring. And with about ten times less love. :)

I have my choice of any of my 6 dogs when we go for a drive. However, I prefer my 3 yo American Pitt. He seems to like riding around the best.

Choices (and the pack sorted by age) are as follows
1. Boxer
2. American Pitt
3. Pitt / lab mix
4. Australian Shepherd/lab mix
5. Tennessee Treeing Brindle
6. New puppy (think Collie / Greater Swiss mix but who really knows as we found him dumped on the side of the road about 10 days ago.

When Molly passes, I'm not getting another dog I can't handle the loss. I told the story before about going to the dump with Molly.

A guy around 30 asked if it was ok to pat my dog? I said Molly will love it. So when I'm done with the trash the guy is crying and still patting Molly.

He said he just had to put his Golden down due to cancer she was 4 years old. So after he told me I start crying.

You never know what people are going through, huh.

I used to have a Damnation, she was the best dog ever.
Shes our second , the first , Tessa May , we got about a month before the twins were born.
She was awesome. The kids use to chase her around.
Liam use to put his finger up her nose to the knuckle, she never growled once.
We bought an acreage for her.
Wife use to walk for 2 hours a day , and she would come home and put her in the back yard and she would run laps.backyard needed returning once a month.
She was a puppy for 4 years.
Couldn't have anything one the clothesline under 6 ft off the ground , or she would drag it into her kennel.
Molly May , she got over the puppyness by 2 years old.
Her thing was bras.
Whether off the line , out of the laundry basket , out of the walk in robe.
She loves the Jeep.
She has the whole back.
If I get out she sits on the drivers seat until I return.
Recently , I realised halfway to our meet point , I had left both leads on the shoe box by the front door.
I called into Bunnings , a big hardware store.
I usually keep her on a lead out wheeling.
Seen too many dogs nearly get run over.Plus they bait the forests , for wild dogs.
She loves her food and will eat anything.
It was the first day Bunnings was allowed the Sausage sizzle again , because of Covid.
Local sports organizations cook the sausages and serve , they get a cut of the takings.
They usually make $3 or 4000 in a day. Waiting list is 6 months long.
So I park a decent distance away.
No windows , she'll be right , never jumps out.
Got to the door , turn around to check , shes out sniffing in the garden.
So , she got tree protectors up.
Got a lead , and we were off.
