What would you offer?

Sold my 1997 TJ Sport back in 2006 to a co-worker where I work. He drove it for a couple of years, then sold it to another co-worker. Thing is, when I sold it to the first guy, it had half doors and full doors, which he took when I sold it to him. He pretty much put the half doors in his garage, never used them, and ran with the full doors. When he sold the TJ, the buyer did not want the half doors. There they sit. I have hinted around a couple of times about how I could use those, but no action on his part. He sold the half uppers to another guy I sold my 2003 X to, so all that's left are the oem half doors. Dark blue, with an extra set of oem mirrors, so I would have to get them painted, probably silver to match my TJ.

I would like to get these, but not sure what to offer this guy. If it was me and I had no use for these, I would sell them at a bargain just to clear up the space in my storage. He basically got them for free when he bought the TJ (which was a steal for him, I was trying to unload it to buy my 2007 Rubicon), but this guy doesn't seem to think giving them up for a great price is the thing to do. He has made no effort to put them on Craigslist or anywhere for that matter...any suggestions?

Around here, I've seen half doors go for $400-$500.

Also, I read your post twice, and all I can see is that you sold 2 TJ's, and now you drive a 2007 JKR.

Sad man, very sad :emoji_cry:

I would just straight up asking him if he would let them go for $200. Drop the hint that he got them from you for nothing and they are just taking up space. If he's not a bag then he should man up and let them go back home where they came from.

Great list of Jeeps.

Yeah, just ask the guy if there's a way you can get the half doors back. He may even give them to you.

Well, he wouldn't just give them back, even though he has no use for them. He did, however, go for the $200 offer, which is ok. They even have a set of stock mirrors already mounted.

Now I just have to have them painted silver to match the Rubicon, and paint the inner door panels to match. Half doors, here we come! For next summer, that is...

Half doors are cool. I've always wanted some, but the thing that prevents me from buying them is that I'd probably never use them. I'm either a doors on or doors off kind of guy, no in between.

They look cool though, that's for sure.

I've never been much of a doors off kind of guy, but I sure love the look of the half doors in the summer with the top down, as opposed to the full doors. Looking forward to that next summer.

not meaning to hijack this thread, but wanted to point out that the naked roll bar looks pretty awesome!

Carry on -
They do look cool, but if you've ever been tossed around in the back seat of a TJ offroading, you would not appreciate the unpadded bars.

Just an idea....Do you have anything you can trade with him you think he may need and you don't ?
