Can anybody point me in the right direction for a nice easy on easy off soft top just to block rain in shade my daughter has a full soft top which is kind of a pain for a 17-year-old girl

The thing about all full soft tops is you have to remove the windows to fold down the top, which is somewhat involved, whether you have a oem type OR a fastback (no frame) type top. Maybe someone who has had both types can chime in on which would be 'easier on & easier off".

Unless she plans on using a safari or bikini, which will keep some rain off, but not from the sides. Most TJ owners decide on which type of top works with their local climate, and deal with what it takes to convert from top to topless. Part of the experience.

Kind of tough we live in New England it seems to rain every six hours this year but we were thinking of safari or bikini is there one better than the other maybe keep some rain off

Thunderstorms can blow in here during certain times during the summer. During that time, I just run my soft top up, without the windows. If a storm blows in, I can put the windows in in about 10 minutes.

We've had a very wet spring and I've been running my LJ a fair bit with the soft top up, the side and rear windows off and a duster on. I have half doors on it and can easily take the soft uppers off. I also have the sunrider top open often. It's not top down driving but there is a lot of air flowing and it's good for this time of year.

When it rains I put the half door soft uppers on and close the sunrider top. I've left it out in the rain with the area behind the seats open and the interior stays dry. It's really nice to drive in the rain with the area behind the seats wide open (cargo area covered by the duster of course). .

How do you keep the duster and the rear corners of the soft top on at the same time? They both share the tub channel.

I struggled with same thing. In the end I decided to keep OEM top. Keeps the interior of jeep the driest. I leave the back and rear side panels off. Have the carpet stripped and the rear seat removed. The OEM top is really not that hard to put down or back up

You can't anchor both for the reason you say. I attach the top and stuff the duster into the corners as best I can. I've driven my TJ and LJ in the rain like this and both have sat out in the rain for hours. It takes a very heavy rain for any to get in even then it's only a little.

Which duster do you have, the one for a softop with bows or the one for no top? Gonna be picking up one of these :D

Moved this to the correct forum. Damn... People are really getting confused by the regional forums. I may have to nix those.
