Occasionally blows when turning the steering wheel. Does that sound like the clock spring is the culprit? I have an 03, besides the junkyard, where to get one? Link?
It did start on my last desert run. It may have been frightened.Well, if you're taking the corners to fast, you may just be frightening your poor TJ and it's just letting out a bit off a yelp!
(Seriously though, almost guarantee it's your clock spring)
I'm having the same problem. Did you find the culprit?Occasionally blows when turning the steering wheel. Does that sound like the clock spring is the culprit? I have an 03, besides the junkyard, where to get one? Link?
As above it's likely a bad clockspring. That's a coiled electrical connector for the horn, cruise control buttons, or radio buttons on the steering wheel. It's located under the steering wheel.I'm having the same problem. Did you find the culprit?
I have had this happen to another vehicle not jeepTake a look tracing the wire from the horn to the firewall. You may have gotten the wire making contact with the steering shaft occasionally wrapping . This is assuming the horn is on a pos ground harness. This idea is a longshot, but easy to check out.
