Does having the top off improve ride quality?

So I don't think your jeep rides any smoother, but with the wind hitting your face, I think you notice it less. I have a 70mph vibration. It drives me crazy driving on the freeway with the top on. It really makes me sad, but when the top is off there is now way that it is gone, but I barely notice it. I mean I can still feel it in the seat and the wheel but not near as much as when the top is on.

BTW I think mine is from the gears and the lift. I think locking hubs will fix my issue, but that is another thread for another day!

It is conceivable.. that a change in weight can have an effect on ride quality right?

Can a lighter vehicle can get a different response from bad bushing, soft springs, worn out u joints, and old shocks?

Reviving an old thread. I have experienced something similar it rides spirited as if I took out almost half off it's weight. I could not feel the same level of stupid vibrations other than the muffler drone. But the driving experience is still enjoyable at least at speeds below 45.
I am sure its not placebo effect and I could really notice the difference.
How does it feel with soft top in context to vibration?

If it's not windy I find it quieter than top on. Hard or soft. *

Ride? Meh....if it's super windy it won't blow you left or right on the road but top off on a very windy day sucks too. *

Note...top off for me means top and doors. I never ditch the top and keep the doors on.
Never.

Matter of fact I'm pretty much in a safari top with no doors from April fools day until Halloween.

The beginning and end of the season can be chilly some days but nothing a hoodie can't cure.

Can always run one of these

Once the HT is off for the summer, my ride is noticeably different without all of that high-seated weight over the rear tires. Most definitely not smoother.

I don’t believe mine rides any better, but by some miracle all my squeaks, rattles and grinding noises go away!:ROFLMAO:

Yes, there is immediately less drag when you lower a soft top. Unless you are @Zorba. (See note below)

And life is also less of a drag.

Note below:
Just messing with ya again Zorb.
