A Nice, Moderately Built TJ

Anybody have any idea of what this could be? I'm pushing down on the fender and it's making that higher pitched noise, then when I go push on the bumper it doesn't do it. I think I'm going to start lubing one thing at a time until I find it

EDIT

The noise is not there when I jack a tire off the ground, as soon as I put weight back on it the noise returns. I pulled the shock off and it's not that

The noise is there when I get in the jeep and put my weight in the seat, I don't think that's it. It isn't there when the jeep is off the ground
pushing on things when it's off the ground doesn't produce the sound? Could possibly be control arm bushings? Sounds like it's gotta be something that deflects under movement.

I found it! @Ephry73 was right in a way. You can see in this where this steering bushing mounts was rubbing part of the fender. Fender is now bent out of the way and I can't recreate the noise, hopefully that's all it was.

Check your fender mount bolts. May be one or two lose or missing and that is causing the inside to pull in.

I put a body lift on it a week or two ago, I'm 99% sure that's why the body was touching that steering shaft mount whatever it is. If you hadn't said fender I wouldn't have been looking at it so thanks for your help 👍🏼

So when I picked up the driver side of the axle the noise wasn't there, but when I picked up the passenger side the noise was still easy to recreate. I'm guessing when I picked up the driver side it squeezed the body and that bracket together so that I couldn't get the noise to happen as easily

Soft top season came early in Arkansas, glad to finally have this on. I've got a sunshade that covers the front seats that's on it, that box of parts I got with the half doors had a full length sunshade I'll put on it. If anybody has a trek top you can put your back windows on a sunshade underneath the soft top and keep them with you. Once I get the half doors put on I'll be able to pretty much strip the jeep down and keep all the windows with me in case a storm pops up. Just a little thing I've learned

It's been a little bit since I've had anything to post, so I thought I'd update the build thread. I got the Jeep back to my apartment and put the half doors on. I'll post a picture below, but I now have the most patriotic Jeep in town with my red doors. I have had a couple issues however. I got home from work a little early today and it was pouring rain, so I went out to see if the half doors had a leak. The half doors were great and had no leaks, but there was water in my seat. After some looking around I found water coming in from the seams on my soft top. I called Bestop about my warranty, and within 30 minutes of me finding the leak they had a new top coming my way. I bought the top from some Amazon wholesaler that probably had it sitting in a warehouse for years, so I cannot fault the top at all. Bestop's customer service is amazing and I still stand behind this top. It has a 5 year warranty and they are very easy to deal with, they don't even want the old top back. So if anybody wants the top piece of a Trektop with no windows, I can patch it and sell it if anybody's interested 🤣

Another issue I found yesterday is one I'm not sure what to do about. I noticed some weird idling when I was checking my mail, and a friend of mine noticed a small puff of black smoke when I revved the engine up yesterday. The only code is P0141, which I've had for a while now. I've tried all the Bosch, NGK, and Mopar sensors and none of them fix the issue. I had a mechanic friend hook up to the Jeep, and he found that the heater circuit for that sensor was always going at 100%, whereas all the others varied depending on throttle position and whatever else they read. I haven't had the dealer do the lifetime fix O2 sensor thing, TSB 25-005-13. If anybody has any experience or any threads with this issue please let me know. I'm worried about the computer problems the 05+ TJ's seem to have as well, but if it's as simple as buying the reprogrammed unit then that's a good thing. I read about somebody on here that fixes them, does anybody have the thread about that? If so I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have not ordered the lift yet, I'm in the process of finding a house to buy, so unfortunately money is slim at this point and I'm saving up for Jeep parts that will be purchased later. Now for the picture I promised you....
