injectors. the fuel pump kicked ass one i replaced it with a delphi brand.

should have forked up the extra $200 for denso injectors.

they leaked. so i shouldered it until the following day, got the leak fixed, cycled key for a few minutes 5 or 6 times to let the fuel pump run for a bit to make sure it wasnt leaking. idk if it was residual fuel or of one of the injectors popped when it fired up.

happened so fast, all i could do is scream fuck repeatedly as i slammed the hood & jumped in car to turn it off and roll it into the street, then try and put the fire out.

Getting harder to find but has a low powered 6.2 or better yet, a 6.5 Turbo diesel.

Have the cool factor and don’t quote me 100%, but front and rear Detroit lockers.

thats nice. going to look at another 7.3 tomorrow morning. i think i may pull the trigger on. its not exactly what i want. but the price is solid, so if i can snatch it fix it up to be ready to flip for when i do find what i want.

a 7.3 has been obtained.

4x4, auto (booo). and you can see the rest.
apparently it was a lariat, so its got leather interior and powered ass & back movers. It's been hacked on electrically pretty good, so sorting out all the ugly wiring will take some time. but for the price i paid. i'm pretty happy with it.

getting it home was somewhat comical. had it towed 150miles.
my plan was to drive my trailer up there. put my jeep Gcherokee on the trailer and tow it back with the 7.3... well, didnt end up getting the 7.3 started, so i ended up paying peanuts for it.

supposedly it was "ran out of fuel" which after fooling with it yesterday, i dont believe. but no i never did get it to fire on its own, will run on ether.
didnt fool with it to much today, just been hanging out with my son, and staring at it with a smile.
It's sitting at 300k miles. so theres a laundry list of things that need replacing anyways. Going to start chippin away at them, and i'll get it runnin in a while. Sounds great when cranking. We shall find out

If it runs on ether, you are 90% there. Careful with that stuff! Don’t want to lift a head!



Yeah I’d prime it, make sure it’s got good oil, good glow plugs and harness.



And the 7.3’s are known for eating the CPS’s which will not allow them to run. It’s a 20 dollar part and two 10mm bolts to change.

primed it. ( i know it needs injectors, its probably still on stock injectors without a rebuild yet )
havnt changed oil, it was dark, but not milky, and not low.
its got a new CPS, and ive checked the ICP sensor(although i am probably going to put a new one on it anyways)

just gonna wait until this weened to peep under the valve covers. planning on injectors, cups, harness, oil, see where that gets me.
edit, glowplugs, new glowplugs too
