ZJ tie rod kit that doesn't suck?

I just bought the Moog parts last month, my parts are not painted. Also I think the company changed hands and its having a hard time getting parts. Most of my parts came the first week of March but the actual tie rod didn't come until today. So it might take a bit to get some of them.

Heh, I just got my Moog parts a few weeks ago, they are painted.

It feels like luck of the draw. I ordered from Amazon and the tie rod was dropped on my porch as usual. But for some reason the drag link was signature required and they left it at the local Advance Auto. No idea why.

That’s weird I don’t know why that is. I also ordered from Amazon and mine were dropped at my door no signature. Bare steel and even though Amazon said they were in stock the whole time they were unable to find one to ship me I guess. Strange

All parts recently ordered from Amazon via the links posted in the thread from @Chris. Tie-rod and tie-rod end showed up in a few days (along with the adjuster) and were un-painted. Adjuster was painted, but I still hit it with the same rattle can I used on the other parts.

Mine were bare. I used VHT Roll Bar and Chassis Epoxy. Came out real nice.
And yeah, Tape off the threads. I also used Fluid Film on the threads when I put them together.

Impressive, I thought for sure they'd rust without paint. I just installed my Moog ZJ steering and painted everything with acid etch primer and Rustoleum satin black. Wasn't too difficult.

I use Fluid Film in the winter but wash it off in the spring. If you don’t have to deal with road salt they’d probably hold up fine. I figured I’d paint them when they rusted but so far that hasn’t been an issue.

Just adding to the randomness of new Moog parts arriving painted vs non-painted. Moog Rear track bar delivered today is painted black 🤷‍♂️
