What did you do to your TJ today?

Picked up 2 ton press at HF's "Spring Black Friday" sale. Called and had one set aside an hour away as it was the only one they had. Guy who helped me load it in the car (not TJ) told me I was lucky bc 4 other people called for one after me. šŸ‘

Ready to do the Dana 44 bearings now.

Wow, looks really clean without the rollbar! Kinda early in the season to commit to topless isn't it?! :eek:šŸ˜‚
I may have jumped the gun! And may have caused this colder weather we are getting!!šŸ¤Ŗ In all reality, trying hard to get my jeep mods all done before it becomes topless season here!!!

I have been looking around a while for a Utility style front bumper.
Replaced the factory tubular front bumper today with a Fishbone Offroad Pirahna bumper.
Looks much better. That was the first thing I did to my Jeep when I bought it 3 years ago. Tube bumpers belong on CJs. I sold mine for $150 to someone that liked them.:)

Thanks....
I have mine up FOR SALE in the Forum Classifieds....
The bumper was not my taste, but may be somebody else's....

I had a front brake line split on the trail a couple weeks ago, so it seemed like a good time to replace all of them. New rear brake line, and YJ lines for the front. Replaced both calipers as well.

The vent bolt on the rear axle that holds the distribution block sure is a pain. It started to cross thread so I had to chase the threads with a die, but I got it eventually.

The YJ lines on the front rub on the shock, but seem to have plastic rings on the line to protect it. I hope that's normal.

I was paranoid about my hardtop hanging from juat straps, so I came up with some additional insurance. I ran some eye bolts through the ends of a couple 2x6ā€™s. put one up near the windshield and the other near the back of the top. Screwed some more eye bolts into the rafters and used some chain to hold the 2x6ā€™s. Once I get the top up, I put the boards and chains in place then lower the tops slightly until the chains and boards are holding the weight.

Mine is kept under the carport that is built onto the side of my workshop.

Stripped all 4 socket caps on rear shock at frame. (y)

Was already planning to drop the gas tank for a new pump and fix overflow issue so guess that will be sooner so I can weld a nut or bolt to see if I can break them loose.

Gotta blame me for this. Wasn't using anti-sieze on every bolt at the time these bolts went in...

I have a similar setup but I have pull straps added so I can lift the top off. Sounded good in theory but really its more of pain in the ass and seems a little sketchy. Once I get the hoist all set up along with the chains and boards I'll feel better about storing it.

Nothing special....just folded down the soft top for the first time since I bought it and removed the doors (also for the first time). the oem hinge bushings are shot and the doors fought me a bit, but they eventually came off without issue. I think some delrin bushings are in my future.
the soft top is an older Quadratec top . rear window zipper is completely jammed and the rear window is unable to be removed completely; plus thereā€™s holes in the side windows. Iā€™m looking at the Trektop NX or Supertop as an eventual replacement.

finally washed it for the first time this year and cleaned up the inside.its amazing how much crap you can accumulate on the inside during the winter. took out everything from a portable air-compressor to jumper cables and heaven only knows how many books my daughter left in the backseat, i swear it had to be 200 lbs of jsut "stuff" crammed in the back.,, i dont think they guy who owned it before me ever put any treatment on the fender flares. had to soak them 8 times to get them back to black. probably going to have to re-apply a few more times once it starts to fade again.

Finished installing my 4340 front axle shafts and 16" Black Magic Big Brake Kit. Talk about an upgrade! I didn't realize just how bad stock brakes with 35's sucked until today. A must have upgrade for anyone with big tires.

Blaine includes top notch detailed instructions and everything needed to do the install yourself. I was able to fit the 16" kit onto my 15" wheels with about an 1/8" clearance.

He goes above and beyond most companies with support and includes the famous lip balm and a high quality hat. I highly recommend his work.
