What did you do to your TJ today?

Thanks! I used Krylon Rust Tough semi flat. It was recommended by a few people here on this forum... Went on easy and looks great!
I may go that route. I've seen POR-15 recomended a lot here also, but I do not like the finish. The Krylon looks much better. I would guess it is all in the prep work to get it to last.

I always use the matte black POR15 and if needed, top coat it. Have to top coat if you want POR to stay glossy anyways(lack of UV protection on regular POR15) The matte black give the same finish as the picture there. Just FYI.

Since my vinyl Tough Stuff fender "tool holders" gave out after 3 years, I decided to order some others. I tried a different company for the same $30-35 price because I wanted to see if they held up longer. The box showed up at the local USPS and I was wondering why they didn't roll them up and stuff them in my PO box. I picked them up and the box felt slightly heavy for decals. Oh well, I got home and opened it to find out that they're steel with 3M tape. Since I recently found a dime sized rust spot and fixed it, this worked out well. The old Tough Stuff decals are thick and I was hoping these weren't too thin vinyl to cover my "body work".

Have you removed the side and back windows? Just curious how hard it is to take out and put back in? Any input appreciated
its very easy to take the windows out and put back in. took them off this weekend so me and my daughter could go for a drive and get some wind therapy and soak up some vitamin D. threw the windows back in monday morning before work with no issues and no leaks when it started raining later on that night. it is true that its a little harder to go full topless with rampage because of the extra straps around the roll bar, its not a deal breaker for me since i'll be running the safari top 99% of the summer.

Link?

Fixed the always hot power outlet in my console that quit working almost 2 years ago. I’m sure I checked the fuse around that time. I checked it again today with a multimeter and put a known good replacement in. I should’ve tried the easy fix sooner.

Yeah i was considering POR-15 as well, but i prefer a flat finish over gloss, and the ease and look of spraying it instead of brushing it on.

Do you think the painted steel will scratch up? look good though

I take it you're not going to The Mounds any time soon? 😂 Looks good!
definitely not. havent been there in quite a while. been going up around houghton and bumping around on sandy trails if I feel the urge. have you been to mounds since holly oaks opened up? ive been curious if the congestion or traffic has quieted down. all I see at holly oaks when passing by is nothing but dirt bikes and quads. holly oaks just enforced a flag mounted to the front of your vehicle like the sand dunes park on the north west side by towards traverse city.

I didn't take pictures, was too busy scrambling to get this done.

Ahead of our planned off-road adventures this weekend I removed the throttle body to replace the TPS due to surging idle and CEL with codes for TPS. I used OE Mopar and had to remove the throttle body due to the orientation with the supercharger. This jeep also has a milled out throttle body to match the super charger port. Should have been a 30 min job at most.

Found the lower two bolts of the mounting face on the supercharger where the throttle body mounts into it stripped completely out by the previous monkey who worked on this engine. These are 6mm bolts and it had only 2 of the 4 bolts holding it on, betting this was a big part of the CEL and idle issue due to leaking vacuum.

So I had to completely remove the supercharger to repair it which was pretty much glued to the intake with RTV, I used a 6" 2x4 and a ratchet strap to pry it off. It was not fun, just getting the bolts off was really frustrating they are not easy to get to at all. I found the O-ring seal under the supercharger was also pinched and improperly installed.

Long story short, two 6mm Heli coils and several hours later it idles smooth.

It is a a Utah Company , had the word Rock in the name, they build to order. Maybe he can post it, I don’t trust my memory.

We are about to install his OME lift also,

He has a really, really nice TJ, never abused. Not a speck of rust.

Really good guy too. Take time to meet other members...you will be glad you did.
Rocky Road Outfitters out of Utah. Same place I bought my OME 2.5” lift from.

I haven't been to the mounds in over a year, that mud is a special kind of sticky, like cement. I'm not really into offroad parks though I'll probably go to Holly Oaks at least once, I don't like crowds. I much prefer trails/FS roads, etc. I'm going up near Lewiston in a couple weeks for the trout opener and will be hitting the Mio route on the way up and the Atlanta Route on Sunday before I head home. Going to try out my new tablet and Gaia GPS.

Cleaned up the seat base on the driver’s side and inspected for rust under the Rollbar. This summer I have to do some digging.

Added a maglite holder for my old trusty MAGLITE (I did Mod it with a few upgrades LIKE: ultra brite led bulb upgrade, gorilla glass, breaking/breaching ring and D cell to AA adapters to get more juice to the LED bulb) before Christmas and she’s a keeper. May ceracoat just to see this summer.

Now I have more space in the center console.
